Amazing A period. Signed Ricky Wagner at RT...throw in Lang and suddenly the Lions have a top ten o-line in the league. Plus Darren Fells as much needed run block TE....man......

MAKE THE RUN GAME GREAT AGAIN

It's kind of surreal that not 1 but 2 professional teams will be in The Meadows, especially an NFL one (not that the NFL is exemplary at distancing itself from gambling).

Anyway, viva Las Vegas.

It will be really interesting how quickly the NHL team becomes competitive and how that will impact ticket sales.
Relocation will be much easier than expansion. But then again one of the prevailing narratives is that season tickets will be snatched up by businesses en masse anyway

I'm kinda faded rn but I want to say this Raiders team will be the best team that has switched locations/cities in a long ass time. Raiders got a real good QB, o-line, and defense.

Speaking of, the Chargers only just today sold the rest of theirs. I think the Rams sold out in minutes.

lol at the first twitter response

also interesting point to note re: Hernandez; his previous murder charge (the one he was serving life for) will now be abated aka he will legally die innocent since there was a pending appeal. Matters for civil suits etc.

Draft night fellas. What's your squad need.

DETROIT LIONS

Needs: DE/OLB, LB, RB, CB, DT/DL in general, safety

Lots of holes, specifically on defense. Our LB core has been depleted after cutting DeAndre Levy. It's probably our biggest need on paper. However I would prioritize DE/OLB over say...a middle LB. Yea we have lots of holes to plug at LB but we just have one hole to plug at DE. If we can find a great defensive end tonight to play opposite of Ziggy Ansah that would be perfect.

There's really not much that could happen tonight that would make me upset. #1 on that list would be drafting Jabril Peppers, arguably the most overrated college football player of the last decade. Maybe he'd pan out on a good defensive team where he could be used in various ways, but we've got too many holes to draft someone who doesn't really have a position. Fight me, AiA. :punch

Second thing that would anger me, but perhaps not a lot...would be drafting a TE. David Njoku and OJ Howard are gonna go in the first round, one could fall to 21. Lots of rumors are swirling that the Lions want Njoku. We haven't picked up Eric Ebron's 5th year option so the thought process is we draft Njoku, make Ebron earn a contract and perhaps let him go at the end of the season. The Ebron pick was TERRIBLE imo, and while he hasn't been bad he simply hasn't justified being the 10th pick, or going before multiple potential HOFers (Aaron Donald, OBJ, etc).

Enticing "what do you do" scenario:
What if Fournette or Cook fall to 21? :ohhh

Drafting RBs in the first round isn't my thing but I think both those guys are gonna be great. Only thing I'm scared about is Fournette's health, so I'd probably pass on him. But Cook? Take em. We rebuilt the o-line. Ameer Abdullah is a good RB but has been hurt too much and is more of a #2. Cook and Abdullah together would be dangerous as fuck...

The other possibility is Reuban Foster falling to 21. OLB, could be really good...but weird off the field fuckery. Dunno.

how do you trade out of the first round and miss Watson? He's gonna light it up in Houston. Goes to a ready to win team...

Jarrad Davis to the Lions. Interesting we passed on Foster. I like the pick. Foster is still dropping btw, wonder how far he'll fall. The off the field stuff and concussion....nah.

Not the pass rusher I wanted but with the way the board is going, we're going to be in prime position to find one tomorrow. Getting perhaps the best LB in the draft tonight isn't bad.

edit: second best LB, forgot about Hassan Reddick

Watson would've been creamed by the AFC North defenses.  For the Browns this is not a draft in which they need a QB.  They've done the smart thing.  Get defense defense defense.  Peppers was a great pick for them.

Peppers was the most overrated player in college football for the last two seasons. Nope.

Draft isn't over but man, I'm stunned we didn't take any DL in the first four rounds. Impressions are very mixed on the Florida CB we took in 2nd round, dunno what to think there. Some say he's slow, some say he simply had a hamstring issue, some say he might have falled into the 3rd or 4th round so why take him that early....damn.

I absolutely love the offense picks tho. Big WR in 3rd, and then Michael Roberts (TE) in 4th. Stafford now has multiple big redzone targets.

Also surprised we didn't take an RB, given who was available at various points.

It's not every day a franchise gets a chance to lock down a 1-time Pro Bowler and 2011's Comeback Player of the Year.

Football payscales are so out of wack. RB's and WR's can have pro bowl years and get let go but a QB that is average will get the biggest contracts (with guaranteed money). And they get to play under special rules designed to protect their health
