I thought this was the game that was supposed to be the system seller for Xbone etc, but it seems that outside of the US and UK the game has been a big flop.

I agree that dearth of performance reports post launch is suspicious. We know that it moved decent amount of SW (crossed a million in sales, iirc), but we also know that it didn't move as many systems as MS hoped. And that if EA expected it launch to the smashing success of Halo, Gears, and CoD4 then they're probably reevaluating their plans.

I tried Skyrim briefly and got pretty bored.  Added some mods to make it more fun stupid, but all the crazy sex shit didn't work right.  Was pretty funny being able to get out of stealing anything by offering to "work it off" though.

They haven't.

Apparently its NPD debut is about a million or so and that's including the bundled xbone version.

We might get a number when EA does their forecast (iirc it should be this month) but it could  be a total shipped figure of the 360/PC/XBONE SKUs

I've tried to get into Skyrim several times. It's just really boring. There's an overload of uninteresting quests and the combat is horrendous if you're melee. I enjoyed Oblivion, but I think I only have one Bethesda rpg in me.

I wasn't that impressed by New Vegas' main campaign. The structure is just crap. They should have had you start in Vegas and kept who shot you in the head a mystery. And Ceasar was too easy of a villain with the whole slavery thing.
