This year. :o

I didn't really care for Sapphire when it came out, I was really excited to get it but it's the only Pokemon I never finished and burned me out so much I never picked up FireRed or LeafGreen.

Hoping I can finally come around with these remakes and enjoy Hoenn.

Unless Young Ocelot and Professor Old Ocelot get redone to look more and more like Ocelot, DIamond and Pearl can jump in a river with Ruby and Sapphire's remake. Terrible generations. I'd go as far to say Unova is bad as well but at least that had some gameplay tweaks like reusable TM's to where it wasn't all bad.

Give me Gen 1-2 "H-H-HD," remakes for a third time, Nintendo.

So they finally ran out of pokemon? Good, most of the new designs sucks anyway.

Blind nostalgists are the worse kind of people.

Comment doesn't even make sense, they've done remakes before. :mindblown

not much more needs to be said, though

this is the third set of remakes they've done, so we know pretty well what to expect, so why not drop the mic and make andy's panties wet?

TBH, it's adequate, but for someone like me who disliked R/S enough that I skipped the rest of the GBA games entirely, a little reassurance in the form of gameplay footage would be nice.

However the only reason we got this slapshod trailer today is because Nintendo had to admit their financial prospects are in shambles. So the basic-ness probably couldn't be helped, they probably planned to reveal it at E3 (or close to it.)

Just curios, how many remakes and/or port ups have we seen from Nintendo in comparison to new content since both the 3DS and Wii U launched.

They have been remaking Pokemon games for 10 years, though, starting with Red and Blue (Green) on the GBA. As Oscar said, this is the same old thing.

Yep, that's why I've been itching for these to get announced. Hopefully they wash away my experiences with Sapphire.

You know I'm right. R/S/E were bad. Hoenn is a terrible region. The only good things Emerald did was 1) gave Mew a event (of course, Nintendo bullshit means you can't get this normally) 2) Gave most of the "exclusive" legendarily out like candy (IIRC, I think you can get R/S/E's generation all in Emerald) and 3) Battle Frontier. So good they had the bad idea of removing it in D/P to bring it back for Pt/HG/SS.

But really: Surf routes. :pacspit

I don't disagree about Hoenn, but I thought Sinnoh was extremely well designed and massive.

Sinnoh's major problem was the snow and mountains. Throw in they suddenly from "oh, it's just cold in the north/upper mountains" to "oh it's cold everywhere now" and :yuck

Oh, and didn't have a Battle Frontier until Winter came. I also didn't like that you had to surf to the Elite 4 all the way up and use Waterfall (which you didn't even need to use for 90% of the game) to beat it.

Details on Primal Groudon and Primal Kyogre have also surfaced via press release. Their new forms occur through a process called Primal Reversion, which is said to be connected to Mega Evolution. Both are considerably bigger in their Primal forms, and notably, Groudon gains the Fire type. Groudon gets an attack increase from the transformation, while Kyogre gets enhanced Special Attack. Both of them have their usual Abilities boosted in some as-yet unspecified way.

Got Diancie a while ago (after waiting forever for it to come out) and now I have Hoopa (ongoing McDonald's promo, ends the 23rd.)

Pokedex is now at 720 and I'm just 1 away from having caught 'em all for the first time since SoulSilver. :rejoice

And they just released an official vid of the last one today. :lawd

(Protip: You don't have to go to McDonald's to get Hoopa, just make a non-password guest network with the name "McDonalds Free WiFi" and do internet Mystery Gift.)
