Quote
In Far Cry® 4, players find themselves in Kyrat, a breathtaking, perilous and wild region of the Himalayas struggling under the regime of a despotic self-appointed king. Using a vast array of weapons, vehicles, and animals, players will write their own story across an exotic open-world landscape.

“Following the success of Far Cry 3, we wanted to take the franchise to the next level and create a game that will surprise players and exceed fans’ expectations,” said Dan Hay, Executive Producer. “Given the unique setting, we feel Far Cry® 4 will stand out as a top first-person shooter and we’re eager to reveal more about the game in the coming months.”

Customers who pre-order Far Cry® 4 will receive the Limited Edition which includes Hurk’s Redemption, a series of three action-packed single-player missions featuring the popular character Hurk from Far Cry 3’s DLC. The Limited Edition also includes Hurk’s signature harpoon gun called “The Impaler”. The pre-order is now available at all major retailers.

Fans can tune into Ubisoft’s Media Briefing at E3 for an exclusive first look at Far Cry® 4.

A tacky swedish house dj subjugating swarthy natives in the himalayas is fairly unique I suppose. Hoping for a early twist that drags the game into blood dragon territory.

they could always make drugs a bigger part of the game.  watch dogs is doing that to explain the kooky side missions where you're a robot spider or playing carmageddon.

far cry 3 should've gone off the rails.  the total recall idea the giantbomb guys talked about would've been awesome.

That dude might not even be white. There are plenty of ethnic people with naturally blond hair, and it takes about ten seconds of googling to suss that out. Purple is the color of royalty, and all that says to me is the villain dude has set himself up as some sort of dictator king. Who's doing evil shit like making people hold grenades. And sometimes a shitty haircut is just a shitty haircut.

I mean, I could be wrong, but I doubt they're dense enough to make a gay white racist their big bad and risk the backlash of organized boycotts and chain stores refusing to carry it.

Don't let me stop any reflexive hackle-raising, though!

The thing about the royalty and him being rich is obvious. But why is he petting a guy with a grenade in his hand? The whole thing is stupidly hilarious and it's telling how they went from the great character designs of Farcry 3 (especially the villain with the mohawk) and main character of Blood Dragon to....rich guy surrounded by guns and a slave soldier. Complete downgrade, artistically, in every single way.

Quote from: The Escapist
Based on a Far Cry 4 preorder screen that popped up on Uplay before being quickly taken offline, that guy is the bad guy, and it's your job to take him down. "Hidden in the majestic Himalayas lies Kyrat, a country steeped in tradition and violence," the game description stated. "You are Ajay Ghale. Traveling to Kyrat to fulfill your mother's dying wish, you find yourself caught up in a civil war to overthrow the oppressive regime of dictator Pagan Min."

Yup. Far Cry 3 was good fun outside of the side activity cruft common to all Ubisoft games. FC4 looks much the same.

To be perfectly honest; i liked the side activities. The island is beautiful and there are lots of vistas to drink in, the hunting was fun (cassowaries, punching sharks in the face).

Capturing outposts is fun too, I love the options of approach you were given.

I'll take the freedom of play FC3 gives you over some 80s nostalgia dickmilking anyday.
Outposts were the meat of the game, to me. I meant stuff like the several types of collectibles and score 'challenges'. The races were OK though.

Unlocked, and I am playing it right now on the PS4. I really wanted to play in co-op mode, but apparently you need to use uplay, and even though I signed in, it claims my accounts haven't been linked, so it's impossible to see any of my friends playing the game.
