No longer will you "have it your way" at Burger King...

Instead, BE YOUR WAY CUZ WE AREN'T ROBOTS

http://www.newsday.com/business/burger-king-ditches-have-it-your-way-slogan-picks-be-your-way-1.8071544

Quote
Burger King says in a statement that the new motto is intended to remind people that "they can and should live how they want anytime. It's OK to not be perfect . . . Self expression is most important and it's our differences that make us individuals instead of robots."

...

Fernando Machado, Burger King's senior vice president of global brand management, noted in an interview that "Have It Your Way" focuses on only the purchase — the ability to customize a burger. By contrast, he said "Be Your Way" is about making a connection with a person's greater lifestyle.

"We want to evolve from just being the functional side of things to having a much stronger emotional appeal," said Machado, who joined the company in March.

As always, the market leader is relevant:
Quote
It may seem odd for a fast-food company to champion individuality, but Burger King isn't the only one trying to project a hip, noncorporate attitude to gain favor with customers. Since 2012, for instance, Taco Bell has been touting its "Live Mas" slogan, which means "live more" in Spanish.

I feel my self-esteem rising just by driving by a Burger King now!

Their old motto always seemed a bit passive-aggressive anyway. Like "Okay, fine, no lettuce. HAVE IT YOUR WAY. *exaggerated sigh*"

Obliviously not talking about Burger King employees, of course.

Sometimes I remember that people actually get paid to come up with shit like this.  In these times I like to fantasize about what it would be like to have been Stalin.

BK over here is delish. My fave fast food outlet. I had BK a couple of times when I was in Amerika and I then understood why I always see Americans bash it online. Grose.

Wendy's>>>McDs>BK

Wendy's has the superior chicken sandwiches. BK's flame broiled stuff doesn't have much taste IMO. Outside of the Jr Whopper it's pretty meh.

I only give McDs the win since the Big Mac is good.

Never heard of Wack Arnolds.

I think Wendy's has the best fast food burgers. Obviously there are tons of restaurants with better ones, including some pizza places, but I'm just talking about fast food.

It's so easy to make great burgers at home, really the only thing that stands out to me with fast food burgers is cheese or sauce.

I got a nice jalapeno burger from Steak n Shake awhile ago, it was good.

5 Guys burgers are overrated IMO. Whenever I get one I always feel like I could have just bought the ingredients, added mushrooms, and made something better.

Burger King has re-opened in Japan, as of 2-3 years ago. I was pretty excited to get a BK burger at a local spot, and sat down to tuck in. Man, I don't know what I was thinking. That was not a good burger, and I was paying for it the rest of the day.

I need to admit something. I've been on a Burger King kick lately, and even ate from there today. See, they send me coupons and I kinda really like Whopper Jr's with cheese for some reason. They're like a perfect miniaturized larger form burger with lots of toppings. Wendy's Double Stack is comparable. And their fries when done right are pretty nice.

Though I hadn't eaten from Burger King in like almost six years except maybe once before this year though.

All of that said. Of the three about equal distance from my house, only one is actually quality.

It's the one with Mexicans working in the back instead of cacs.  :shh

I like Burger King.  That being said, I wish they'd focus more on making a friggin burger than they would their slogan.

I don't need the guy who's handing me a burger out the drive-thru window to be okay with my lifestyle choices.

They're dry and tasteless no matter what you put on them. I kinda liked them a few years back. Then I went to Shake Shack and had a real burger. :lawd

The worst thing about that live mas shit is that they use it in their hiring propaganda at the drive-thru window (at least at the one I use infrequently). You're not living mas working minimum wage, without full time hours (even without guarantee), even in the People's Republic of Commiefornia.

Also up there is El Pollo Loco saying they offer "crazy" benefits in their similar drive-thru window propaganda. Motherfucker I know what El Pollo Loco means that's not funny.

I don't think 5 guys burgers are dry at all (i usually get a lot of toppings on mine though) but tasteless is definitely true. They overcook the patties and i don't think they salt or season them at all either. The real problem is the price; like PD says you know you could do better.

Great fries though. The cajun ones are :whew
I guess they're dry in comparison to Shake Shack then. I can't hate on their cajun fries.

I can't believe Shake Shack hasn't tried something different with their fries after all these years. They're probably the worst you can get from a burger chain. :maf

the correct way to eat them is soaked in a shitton of melted cheese, while eating a shake at the same time for maximum salt/sugar+dairy overload combo

Yea those Steak n Shake fries are meh. When I first saw them they reminded me of kettle chips, which I really like. But in reality the fries were very forgettable and disappear quickly.

Never had Steak and Shake, but those fries do look trash. Here's what they serve at SS:

The cheese does not help at all.

I sometimes desire to go to Red Robin. Like once a year or so.

Probably a strong correlation between that desire and it being in the news because somebody got shot in the parking lot.

I used to hate Wendy's because the burgers would soak grease through the whole bag, but I definitely fuck with double stacks and their fries a lot when I get fast food these days. Their toppings are always solid, hands down best fast food pickle in my opinion. I like that the double stacks taste mustardy. Their fries are my favorite too, skin on and unapologetically salty.

Jack in the box is only a couple blocks away, and a sourdough jack + egg is my go to there. I usually don't like tomato much on my hamburgers but it just works so well on those.

I'm kinda done with fries in general, at least for fast food. Too inconsistent and if they aren't super hot they are gross. Onion rings tho  :heartbeat

Good onion rings are rare in fast food. Arby's probably has the best IMO. BK rings taste like they're cooked in used oil, and White Castle onion rings taste like they're cooked in too much oil.

Yeah I'll usually get no sides (except Wendy's where I'll grab a chili) but it's worth taking a chance on onion rings sometimes because they almost always will be fresher than the fries.

I like Carls and Blakes (local spot) for onion rings. Never had Arbys.

Burger King's rings taste better by about 68% when you accidentally get one in with fries.
