Indie game thread where we discuss great indie games.
« on: June 03, 2014, 08:59:26 PM »
I recently played the game "To the Moon".  An excellent adventure game with a great story.  I normally dont play adventure games and i went in thinking i would hate it(i got it gifted to me).  But i ended up loving it.

So I am going to gift 2 copies of the game to whoever want it.  Because i think it deserves it.  Send me a pm with your email.

That isn't fair to Damian. He wrote something about why he liked it. You don't have to be mean about it.

I'd love to check it out Damian.

It is a pretty cool game. It's made with RPG Maker, but it's not actually an RPG.

Except for one joke battle at the beginning. "Throw shoe at Squirrel!" :lol

People complain because it's a non-game or whatever, but if you just want to experience a 2-3 hour story unfolding, it's pretty neat.

it's about as indie as the fucking pixies

whatever! it's my favourite indie game and it's better than this mess that is the gaming equivalent of a badly directed chick flick movie

If you want high quality independent video game software I recommend you look no further than Air Control.

http://wip.warpdoor.com/2014/06/04/spaceoff-anna-anthropy-merritt-kopas/

new ($5) game by Anna Anthropy (mighty jill off) and Merritt Kopas (consensual torture simulator)

"SPACE/OFF is a two-player action game by anna anthropy and merritt kopas, inspired by Star Control and about a breakup in space.
Play as jilted lovers MIND WOLF and COOL BUG and prove who's angrier in one of three cosmic showdowns." - Kopas

the store page seems down at the moment, but I'll get it when I can. I generally like Anna Anthropy's games. If it's exclusively two player (as I suspect it is) I might have to wait a lil before I can report back on just how much you should totally buy it.

Heh, while on the subject of Anna Anthropy, I just bought her book about Epic Games' early game creation engine, ZZT. Was a tad miffed I didn't get a shout, but then again I was much more infamous with its descendent, MZX, though at one time I had the largest ZZT site on the net and even got linked to by Tim Sweeney himself.

I played this incredible indie game called Bastion. It was made on a really minor budget like a million dollars. It had so much more heart than Call of Duty and I really can't recommend it enough
