It happens all the time with GAF.

Hey man. Two of those games were good.
I don't think Type 0 is great. I mean quite honestly, I never thought it looked that great. High school Final Fantasy sure didn't excite me.
When I did it import a while ago I clearly didn't know Japanese, except I could read names and know the sounds of the katakana and Hiragana letters. Clearly not enough to actually follow or read anything. Either way, it did'nt matter because I found it to be a strange and floaty action rpg. I just think the combat in the game felt a bit off. Like not enough to be un-fun, but a enough for it too feel un-responsive.
It was funny to see people say "oh this is the game XIII should be". I feel like I would take XIII's straight, but pretty lines over the kind of bland and copy and pasted environments of Type 0.
But now that I can follow the story a bit more well.....................This whole FNC thing sure did not work for them, because honestly this game also feels like it just throws you in without explaining anything. It sure does not ease you into the characters, the world, or anything. I think even XIII did a better job, but I'm not sure it did a good job explaining this mythos that was supposed to run through all the games.
And I really hate that Mace chick. Obnoxiously cute Japanese girl characters are not my favorite, but I'm sure a certain demographic will love her.
Type 0 seems like an ok game from the time I've put into it both times, just not something that will radically change the series rep or anything.
I hope the HD port is a better game, but Kagari tells us not to expect anything and she's an insider and everything. I mean she could be, but I'm not going to give her points just because she bet on SQUARE ENIX not doing much beyond porting the game. No one get's post for betting on disappointment from Square.
