She wasn't riding on Epona (Epona has a white mane, the horse in the trailer had black mane), she has braided hair just like Zelda in Skyward sword, no sword can be seen, she uses a bow, and her cape has the Zelda insignia.

I did think it weird that the trailer made it seem like it was a huge surprise the rider was. They were actually wearing a cloak covering them, although you couldn't really tell until they threw it off.

Do most people expect this to slip to 2016? If so, I'm guessing they'll just move it to wii3. I can't imagine the Wii u lasting more than 4 years.

There's conflicting opinions about this but I feel that Sheik didn't actually change genders when she was in disguise.

No, I don't know it. Aonuma definitely does operate and makes these Zelda games tie into other ones. Wind Waker, Twilight Princess, and Skyward Sword all point back to (forward to?) Ocarina.

Where some of the smaller and older games fall I think is something the team doesn't really care about, but ever since Ocarina, they definitely care.

nah the modern games contradict themselves. I don't think they care all that much outside of making it some story hook. like how they've done the "origin" four or five times by now. oot to wind waker was the time it felt like they cared. but it doesn't really matter. I've always liked the idea that the legend of zelda was the same legend retold game to game, with a few sequels connecting.

anyway, the main character is totally 100% a female. I bet andrex' account on it.

skyward sword design was not manly but the blue shirt does link no favors in this new game. The hood makes him look great. Without, it's terrible. And Tales of games often don't have good designs.
