Bought my dad a book (Homicide by David Simon), got him a card, cut his grass, and chilled with him. We watched some tv. The problem with watching television with my dad is that he commentates - not the actual show/movie/whatever we're watching, but the commercials. He kept rewinding a True Blood commercial, and I was like wtf, is he looking at the chicks? Then he freeze framed on a shot of a vampire with its mouth open and started complaining that the fangs weren't on the canines, but the lateral incisors which doesn't make biological sense.


After a trailer for Pixar's Planes went off he started musing on the lack of CGI films about trains, and then said "are there any kids movies about trains? Can you google that for me?"

We just ate chips. One of my brothers showed up an hour later with Subway and we were like but then he informed us that it was just for him

My dad passed 8 years ago, I still miss him; boritos, call yer dads, and not just on Father's Day.

My own celebration was a rare indulgence in Japanese take-out pizza featuring none of the following toppings: corn, seaweed, mayo, or squid. Had a delightful beer or two to go with it.

In summary: Japanese pizza is still pretty bad, but call your dads.
