Civilization Revolution 2 is the first Civilization game to be developed exclusively for mobile platforms, delivering high-impact graphics and new gameplay and controls that capitalize on the mobile technology advancements since the original Sid Meier's Civilization Revolution launched more than five years ago. The game will combine the core tactical elements of the series with intuitive controls and a friendly user interface - designed specifically for mobile gamers on touch-pad devices. The original Civilization Revolution, designed by Firaxis Games in 2008, was a watershed game for console and handheld systems and brought to iPhone in 2009. In 2010, the title was optimized for Apple's high-definition iPad and has since achieved an average rating of 4/5 stars among iOS users. Staying true to the series, Civilization Revolution 2 will allow players to lead a civilization from the dawn of man to the modern age, and go head-to-head with history's most intrepid leaders as they wage war, conduct diplomacy, discover new technologies, and build the most powerful empire the world has ever known in a race for ultimate supremacy.

Technically in Himuro's world, that'd be "neutered."

But honestly, Civ Rev wasn't bad. A continuation on consoles would be good, but mobile is a no brainier at this point.

I played it (the first one) for the DS & PC (emu). It was fun, but not addictive for some reason.

It will depend on the price point for me. 10 dollars would be my sweet spot.

Ok I picked it up because I love me my civ.

Feels like this one is super turbo charged and streamlined. Dont think the devs where kidding when they said you could play a game in an hour.

Its been a while since I played Revolution 1 but that game could last hours, this one so far seems way less complex.

No judgement yet since im playing on the second difficulty.

Beat the game on emperor now with a cultural victory.

Game seems way too easy.

Not sure im happy i spent 15 bucks on it.

The first one sucked on iPhone, was ok on ipad. Not sure I want another. I turned on the original today and I'm not sure it has aged well.

This goes way beyond that one I feel.

The game is so quick it doesnt seem to matter what you do (mind you after two games). Even on Emperor I just plucked down 3 cities, then I annexed two cities through culture and that was it basicly. All enemy AI where at war with me but no one really made an effort even though I saw a tank.

There is no option to continue playing even after getting a victory

Civ Rev 1 was good on consoles/handhelds. I don't know why they'd have to make it easier for mobiles. $:-\$

Beyond Earth will be your loss if you wait. Sid's Alpha Centauri is a seminal, inspirational work. This will be its spiritual successor. You'll see.

My only concern about Beyond Earth is how similar it looks to Civ 5. I hope they manage to make it feel like its own thing and not a palette swap to an old game.

I have had every civ game except 3, also pirates, colonisation and that ios airplane game.

This is by far the worst game they have ever made.

Ill get beyond earth eventually but maybe ill way for some goty pack with a few expansions.

I don't even think it's good for new players, the original civ rev is better.

My first civ was CIV 1 when I was 8/9 and I loved it already.

Mon Hun is pretty great I agree, already put 12/15 hours into it.

You know I'm just taking the piss right with it being TA's fault and all? The part about the late review stands of course but as you guys don't get to play early it makes sense.

And No I didn't read anything about the game before because I have never been burned by a Sid Meier game before.

You bought it as soon as it appeared on the store without waiting for user feedback, mate. But it made sense to blindly trust a sequel to a game you liked. We've all done that before.

I wouldn't judge Beyond Earth based off of this. CivRev 2 cleared misfired but it is not a Firaxis project.

Borderlands Legends was a similar mishap. That game should have just been borderlands loot crossed with XCOM style gameplay, but it was a big mess instead.
