This thread is to celebrate one of the greatest musical acts of all time, the fathers of prog rock, the one and only Rush!
Since the release of the band's self-titled debut album in March 1974, Rush has become known for its musicianship, complex compositions, and eclectic lyrical motifs drawing heavily on science fiction, fantasy, and philosophy. The group has been awarded 24 gold, 14 platinum, and 3 multi-platinum albums, and has sold over 40 million albums worldwide. Over their careers, the members of Rush have been acknowledged as some of the most proficient players on their respective instruments, with each band member winning numerous awards in magazine readers' polls.
Geddy Lee
An award-winning musician, Lee's style, technique, and skill on the bass guitar have inspired many rock musicians such as Cliff Burton of Metallica,[4] Steve Harris of Iron Maiden, John Myung of Dream Theater,and Les Claypool of Primus. Along with his Rush bandmates – guitarist Alex Lifeson and drummer Neil Peart – Lee was made an Officer of the Order of Canada on May 9, 1996. The trio was the first rock band to be so honoured, as a group. Lee is ranked 13th by Hit Parader on their list of the 100 Greatest Heavy Metal vocalists of all time.

Alex Lifeson
Lifeson is the melodic mastermind that elevates the band beyond mere percussive and rhythmic brilliance. His superb technique, the emotional resonance of his playing, and his unfathomable catalog of all-time classic riffs has established him as one of the greatest guitarists in the history of rock.
He currently ranks 98th in Rolling Stone Magazine's list of 100 greatest guitarists of all time and 3rd in the Guitar World Readers poll of 100 greatest guitarists.

Neil Peart
Oh God, there is no fucking drummer better than Neil Peart!
Little can be said that hasn't already been said about the brilliance of Peart, widely renowned as one of the greatest drummers of all-time, and one that thousands of drummers cite as a major influence. His extreme precision and unparalleled rhythmic sense allow him to tower over the drumming world. In addition, Peart writes most of Rush's acclaimed lyrics, incorporating elements of fantasy, futurism, political thought, and the full emotional depth of the human experience.
