HIMU-CHAN'S KIDNEY STONE PASSING THREAD
« on: June 26, 2014, 09:16:36 AM »
I'm on spiro, a diuretic. I have a kidney stone, likely from keto dieting. In order to flush out the stone I have to drink a shitload of lemon water. But I'm on a diuretic, and means PEE ALMOST EVERY HOUR. Join me as I take on this adventure! NOT GOING TO WORK TODAY

The only way I can pee without screaming now is to do small splashes. No streams. Prime pee control. Currently giving myself a pep talk because I need to laugh when under pressure to survive. I'm imagining people surrounding me as I sit on a toilet. Splash. SPLASH. "You can do it!!!" I canvas the crowd and observe "number #1 pee-er" and "My Peero" signs. They know I can do it.

There are ways to do that without risking a kidney stone, but whatevs, it's your pee pain not mine.

Drink alcohol himu-chan, it'll help dilute your liquids or something, but more importantly numb the pain.

And in the future, just do squats - that is always a sureway of losing weight.

One of the greatest cultural exports Norway has produced is a feature film about a lil kid who shrinks himself down in order to travel through his ailing grandfather's body in search of a kidney stone.

I think about it when I pee sometimes.

not drinking enough water can cause kidney stones, but it's not like you can't get them for any number of reasons. Being an old-ass dude, for instance, is usually cause enough. So if you haven't had one yet, don't fret.

kidney stones?  andy, you know you're supposed to give up the mountain dew/pixie stix diet when you exit high school, right?

I was just craving some pixie stix today lol. Been a while since I had any.

I'm cutting back on soda in general for the health of my teeth (down to one can a day...) but it'll also cut down on the risk of kidney stones. Considering only 13% of people get them anyways, and men are at a lower risk than that, I'm feeling pretty good.

Sucks for Himu though. :gloomy

I've actually only been directly aware of one person getting a kidney stone and it was my insane workaholic boss a few jobs ago, after a week of 36-hour Rockstar-based workdays on some dumb overdue project for some dumb client. yeah maybe that's a bit unhealthy, ya think?!

Went to dinner, had three glasses of water. After dinner, my stomach really felt weird.

did some art, went on a walk. During said walk, I started to feel sick, and my bladder - or something under my pubis - really started to ache. That walk was a 1.5 mile walk and when I got home I was sweating as if it 4 miles. I was also insanely hot, even by Houston night time standards. I knew I had to pee even if it I didn't feel the pee coming down the urethra. Peeing relieved pain in the bladder. I've peed again since coming as well, without drinking a sip of water. Bladder hurt prior to that too. Even when I drink water, I still feel dehydrated. It's insane. I've had about 4-5 glasses of water tonight, and my lips and mouth are still dry.

I'm started to get worried. And I'm really hoping this is just a kidney stone.

I worry because I spironolactone - my anti-androgen, which is a diuretic - is something I sometimes take before bed. Since's a diuretic, that means I have to pee a lot. It also dehydrates me. When I take it night before bed, i'll usually wake up and have to pee. I almost never wake up in the middle of the night to pee. I'm worried that the holding in the pee is doing damage to my bladder, but I'm not sure, since the body tells the kidney to slow down urine production while sleep. There's also an anti-diuretic hormone released while you sleep as well. It's an explanation for the bladder pain, at least.

I haven't taken my medicine in two days. It's really got me on edge.

Kidney stones :'(

If you keep having problems you do need to be seen, it's possible for the stone to be too large to pass. They can put a stint in or use an ultrasound gun thingy to break it up. My wife has had some terrible experiences with kidney stones, sorry you're on this ride!

I don't even see why this is even needs to be brought up. The fact that people think it does is a problem. There's a time and place for lack of decorum and respectability. You would not joke to a woman who can't get pregnant but wants children that the kidney stones she's having will be her real pregnancy. You also wouldn't joke about her private parts. The fact that I even have to mention this on Houston Pride Day gives me a headache and the lack of respect or civility is highly bothering. There are few times I will call people out, but in this case I can read between the lines, and it isn't funny.
