The attention part in ADHD is the least serious part of it, it's almost just like the hyperactivity. Being busy minded or inattentive can be dealt with because everyone experiences it from time to time. It is the deficiency in executive functions and working memory that are really hard to deal with.
Also the life management and behavioural difficulties that fuck you up even when you try your hardest.
I suggest that you do a decluttering session, get rid of everything that you do not need at your place, everything!!! Make your place look like you just moved in and had a maid clean it and tidy it all up for you. Books, bills, old clothes, silverware, old postcards, old hygiene products, torn socks, bottles, everything.. throw it away. Make it look like a hotel room. Basically if the police come to your place with a search warrant it shouldn't take them more than 60 seconds to go through everything you have. And always have easy to prepare meals available for you at home.
Set a lot of timers, like an interval timer that beeps once an hour so you do not hyperfocus on message boards.
One more thing you can do, which I really do not recommend unless it's an emergency like before an important exams you might fail is to intentionally flair up your symptoms. Drink a lot of energy drinks and smoke a lot, this gets me into a state where procrastination simply does not exist any longer. You will be hyperfocusing and doing 10 hours of study a day, the fatigue will hit you once you are out of it though so be careful. Basically I did exactly the opposite of what my psychiatrist told me not to do and that is because i still didn't get to start medication although i have gotten the diagnoses.
