I got all three Syphon Filter games.
First one is super clunky. Second one refines things a bunch and is much more playable.
the original syphon filter is one of my most favourite game, if you aren't going around tasering the shit out of every terrorist you are playing it wrong!
Legend of Dragoon is one of those games I surprisingly never bought back in the day... but it seems really divisive - a love it or hate it kinda game.
legend of dragoon desperately wants to be final fantasy, almost as bad as a kickstarter game so there is like, every rpg trope ever, there is the amnesiac hero, it's female childhood friend that wants the hero dick really bad but can never seems to get it, the old kungfu man that double as the party mentor, the mysterious chick that know the hero from some past event but won't tell, the big evil empire that's spend half of his time attacking the peacefull weaker kingdom and the other kidnapping the hero childhood friend...
consider that the game opens and that the first thing that happens is that the hero village get burned down, that's how painfull derivative it is, now that i think about it i seems to remember the game also has it's own sephiroth wannabe

if you somehow are able to ignore all of this, it's not an horrible game... the battle system has a timing element similiar to stuff like super mario rpg/shadow hearts and there is a gimmick where you can turn your character into power ranger mode for tougher boss fight, and it's nice going through a no-frill rpg with ye olde background CG and the like, definitely better than going through one of the more recent tales game or worse, a compile heart game!
one thing i found incredibly funny is that the character calls all their special attack name, i don't know how the english dub of the game is but the italian one was terribly bad so it was hilarious seeing the character shouts "VOOOOOOOOOOLCANOOOOOOOOOOOO" with the straighest face ever!
