I don't feel bad at all about thinking this guy is a fuckwad. You get out of life what you put into it, sometimes more and never less.  If all you put into it is managing to stay on GAF all day and post in every single thread..... well the result is obvious.

Aside from III and V all of those games couldn't be any more different.

This is incorrect. If you were terminated I am allowed to tell them you were as well as inform them if it was performance related. I can't directly say that "I fired Joe because he was a ignorant fucktard" but I can say "He was terminated and at this time we would not hire him back due to performance"

If you resign I'm going to tell your prospective employers that "He resigned on xx date" and that's it.

Also "sue" me for a bad reference. This guy clearly has never had a job that didn't require a name tag.

Strokes are weird. The family who took me in during my teen years, she had one stroke and was paralyzed from the waist down until she died.

I would take the termination with the severance and unemployment and just not use them as a reference. If I resigned with a shit work history and they were a reference, they could still say "he resigned on this date xx" and when asked if you would hire them again still say "no".

I look at it like this. You can have a stroke and that's an awful thing I would not wish on anybody fyi...and that will leave you with two choices:

1) Do everything you can to help yourself.

2) Give up on life and surf neogaf for 14 hours a day. He chose this option and people wonder why his wife is limited in her daily interaction with him? Who wants to spend all day trying to help someone who doesn't want to help themselves.

I have limited respect for the latter unless he clearly is unable to do anything else. But if you can post on GAF all damn day you can find a job doing something computer related.

I've never been asked if I would hire back someone who resigned in all my time in a position where I was able to be asked that. Never.

If you take termination it's going to disqualify you from a lot of companies who will just toss your resume in the trash.

But to be fair most people I "terminated" I usually just put in as a permanent layoff so they could collect unemployment while job searching and not have a black mark on their resume. Just because I don't want you to work for me doesn't mean I want you to struggle either.

So what's the point of a reference if all you'll say is one thing and nothing good? Serious question, I've never had to give a reference that would have said anything bad or neutral. All of my references have been chosen because they'd be glowing.

3 kinds of references.

Personal: The guys you know are going to go to bat for you

Professional: People in positions of power that will inform your prospective employer that you performed well in your job

Employer: Basically nobody gets hired from this one, but a lot of people get disqualified due to lying on their resume (super common) being fired and saying they resigned (pretty common), or falsifying employment or job title details (rare)

Although I did meet a pretty talented guy who lied about his job level at his former employer: Stated he was in charge of online marketing but was really just a marketing associate. I called him out on it but hired him anyway. He is still with me.

Edit: And if I found out you worked at a company but didn't list them on your resume (My background check people will find them) you can BET YOUR ASS I am calling them with my finger on the delete all button.

Edit 2: Also if you have committed a crime just check that box on the application. I am going to find out anyway and I don't disqualify for MOST mistakes made due to youth or emotional events.

I believe the constant gaf posting and whining about how crap his life is while doing nothing to help himself is a clear sign of depression.

But not liking sex, vegetables, music, comedy, and generally being an obnoxious grammar correcting pedantic doofus seems like it's all on him.

Depression: How does it work?

He doesn't sound depressed. If he is, I wouldn't know from his posts. Posting on GAF about how sex (among a billion other things) is lame and following up with ">.>" is trying to be a unique snowflake and bring other people down.

In short, Terrisus is this:

See, I've known plenty of depressed individuals that act exactly like that. I've said it before, dude has a hard life and I certainly wouldn't want it. I know it's cool to hate on him, but I don't like to kick a guy when he's down. Just me I guess :yeshrug

The gaming media are so far in MS's pockets it's unreal.

One only needs to look back at the Xbone reveal to remember the hundreds of articles telling gamers they were wrong and MS's vision was correct and just. MS literally had a PR empire doing the job for them, for free. These "journalists" did not once try to defend the gamer or look after gamers' interests. There was no huge backlash, no calling out of MS on their bullshit, nothing.

I genuinely don't use the gaming media for anything now, because due to how they handled the Xbone situation, I can no longer trust a word they say. Gaming media is corrupt.

I must say I've lost a lot of faith in EG recently. Pitiful reviews of games like Driveclub that felt rushed and by someone with an agenda against it from the start, to the ridiculously high scores for various Ubisoft disasterpieces. Something's not right and it feels like some editorial pushing in a certain direction is at play. Paranoid maybe, but I've seen too many irrational viewpoints coming from what I thought was a rational bunch of journos. To single out a game, based on a demo months from release for the points they have, meanwhile giving many of the recent broken games high review scores and a free pass, just feel a very off to me.

Why the fuck does OP insist this individual he speaks of is a nice guy and intelligent (bubu but IT specialist!) when he's clearly a racist, ignorant caste-loving piece of shit? :beli

Loved this part

He didn't understand why Black people could call each other the n-word, but he couldn't use it to describe black people. A couple days later he sent me the youtube link to a Nas album to prove his point

EG can't win.  :lol Past few months Sony Fanboys adored them and MS fanboys hated them for their Digital Foundry articles. They simply suggest caution on a PS4 exclusive and they're suddenly in MS's pocket.

I thought the age of the Sony fanboy had returned? Turns out these guys are still scarred from years of getting humiliated every NPD. Yesterdays results seem to have triggered some bad memories in a lot of posters and their feeling 'persecuted' again.

I concede Terrisus might be depressed. However:

1. That doesn't stop his posts from being as annoying as fucking possible.
2. He hasn't said he's depressed, so in lieu of actual confirmation I try to assume the best of people and not whisper about their possible mental state behind their backs.

For all we know, every single person on the Bore is depressed. Does that mean we should stop calling them out on shit? Fuck outta here with that hugbox.

eh, you're probably right.  :leon

Still, there's a ton more posters out there that are far worse in my eyes and don't get the same level of hate.
