Last of Us is overrated. From the amount of awards Naughty Dog wants to toot on their horn to the amount of people that proclaim it "BEST. GAME. EVAR." despite the weak stealth gameplay that put me to sleep. Which is funny because a lot of people want to knock Splinter Cell but it had more engaging combat and stealth mechanics than the Last of Us.
Overarted by who? Who gets to decide that? You? Because you don't like it? You simply not liking the game dosen't mean it's overated. Docking the game because it's not a super stealth game? It's not a stealth game. Stealth is merely an option and an aspect to use. Of course it shouldn't have deep stealth mechanics. It's stealth is simple because it's just something you can chose to do.
was it supposed to be a deep stealth game. I sure never attemtped to play it as one. Use stealth for the first kill and then it becomes a slow and tense gun fight where you can easily flank guards thanks to the Uncharted 2 esque mechanics. I wasn't sneaking and stealth killing everyone.
I did'nt even know what you're complaint about the story is. How does it fall apart because Joel goes on a killing rampage? The entire point is that Joel is a bad person. Of course he's going to kill everyone and screw over people just for his own selfish reasons. Why would'nt he? The entire point of the game is how Joel has become broken and won't give up the last thing he loves. Since he has no qualms in doing anything to survive of course he'd do that to save elly. I need a little bit more then "herp derp" line to understand how the story is bad.
I don't think it's necessarily a "bad game." You misunderstand if you think I think it's terrible. I don't. But I think it's not "THE CITIZENS KANE OF GAMING" that 90% of GAF thinks it is.
I don't care what you think about the game. If plenty of people on GAF think it's the best game ever then so be it. It is a good game and it completly does deserve it's good reviews. Am I supposed to think it's not because you happen to think it's a bad game. I don't think Skyrim's overrated because of it's pos combat. I just think it's a terrible game and leave it at that.
I can't help that some idiots decided to put it in the same leagues of Citizen's Kane, but the game is still good.
