Don't think I could be a vegan. I use things like stock, eggs, butter etc. too much.

You can substitute a bunch of that.

(Just for the record: Not vegan but know a few vegan people so I eat vegan food pretty regularly)

The major problem with a lot of Vegan cooking is that they don't substitute the right things or don't salt/pepper/seasoning it enough. I've had some bad vegan food but some really good vegan food as well. Kinda a wash like all cooking.

Don't understand how you can have a gym body and not know how to talk to people. Half the battle is making sure you look good or at least presentable. College is so easy for this too because even if something awkward happens or shit goes really badly you already know you probably only have to see this person for a single semester.

If you can't even stumble into sex while in college you need serious help.

Just to note: That book is basic and isn't a "substitute this for this" extensive book. But it isn't meant to be... 

And yeah, a lot of it comes down to creative subtitutions. One vegan person I know makes this "'Queso' dip" that tastes nearly the same as non-Vegan tomato salsa. It's pretty amazing.

I said I don't make them feel this way when they come to my house. In fact, I go out of my way and ideals to cook for them. If by some chance I don't have food for them I'm not offended that they bring their own.

The situation is not reciprocated. They don't cater to my ideals and when I bring my own food I've also crossed a line.

My other friend no longer drinks. He's two years sober. It took him a year of complete separation to do this, but it's worked and he's happy. When we go over to his house for a game, he has a chest of beer for his friends. When he comes over to my house, I have o'douls and diet coke stashed away just for him.

Like I said, it becomes a battle of ideals and whom is more justified in their beliefs. What about dropping the BS argument for a second and just being gracious to your guests?

Thanks for the link username. The biggest challenge I have with vegan food is getting that same satisfaction / umami you get from animal fats and products.  I guess you can use mushroom tomato and veggie stock, just takes some creativity.

i've got a friend who's a drummer in a punk band who are pretty big in the right circles over here, along with being pretty much my favourite dude. they set out around europe and he kept a tour journal which cut pretty close to the mark. he's a total stream of consciousness writer so there was some unsavoury stuff in there (think getting chlamydia from a transylvanian crust-witch) but it was a total and unabashed trip through some of the darker corners of human psyche. a real killer read.

the guy isn't a bro at all. he's this soft, affable guy but with a dark streak.

anyway, some excepts from his journal basically became a staging post for some of the most insufferable corners of the scene to use as a pillory. distilling what is a comprehensive and dark narrative into a few ugly sound-bites and spread them around tumblr and whatever the fuck else to make him look like a some dark prince of bigotry, calling for a boycott of his band.
