If current trends in the Bay Area keep up, you could end up with a situation where most people who work in the city commute in, and most people who live in the city commute out. Shit would be kind of funny in a weird dystopian way.

My old neighborhood of Echo Park is now hipster central. Yoga studios and food co-ops have replaced pawn shops. It's a trip going back there. Downtown LA has also changed a lot. I no longer feel like I'm 10 seconds away from getting mugged when I walk around there at night.

I have mixed feelings on the whole thing.

I don't think there would be any debate really. Everyone in the thread would just agree that RE5 is the most racist game ever. RE5 actually does a lot to defer that accusation: your partner is black (a bit), quite a few whiteys are scattered throughout the early hordes, and real effort has been made into a somewhat realistic and sympathetic depiction of modern Africa.

And then halfway through the game, we suddenly find ourselves in a succession of mud hut villages, fighting crowds of jabbering black people in loincloths and war paint chucking spears.

I haven't been in the retail realm since about 2006, but from I remember it was highly bonus contingent. I worked for Circuit City a couple of years before they went under, but at the time, I remember Best Buy poaching a couple of our better TV sales people/managers. I didn't have hard numbers, but from what I understood base pay was pretty mediocre, but you could do all right for yourself if the store/your department hit the right sales numbers.
