The whole thing was just weird to me because it wasn't anything particularly special but when you're dealing with people scared of their own shadow it seems so out there to them to just travel or whatever. The writing wasn't particularly good and some of the stuff just kind of revealed more about his social awkwardness than the culture he was immersed in.
