AMD couldn't really afford to compete with Intel so I doubt Intel ever was in panic mode regarding them. Especially in the server market.
Compared to Intel's recent graphics leaps, both AMD and nVidia look like they've mostly been doing rehashes.
EDIT: Reading the thread, not really seeing the nVidia conspiracy. People are just making fun of a feature that's been used by like two and soon to be four games, same as anyone would with PhysX.
Lots of people were excited about Mantle.
The so far up nVidia butt posts:
no one will use this unless they are paid by amd
TressFX...yeah, turned it off in a couple of minutes. The performance hit was massive, and I just don't care for 'incredible hair tech'. I'd rather watch a shampoo ad.
AMD best get down to announcing their new cards instead!
Make it more efficient and we have a winner here AMD, the improvements sounds promising especially the AA solutions.
Thank god, I was afraid with so many people complaining about TressFX being a waste of resources that they were going to stop making/updating the tech. I need MORE games with pretty hair.
Not even slightly being facetious, I made a thread about how much I loved TressFX in Tomb Raider and how so many games since then have truly felt 'last gen' by comparison.
