It doesn't seem like the move of a winner, but it's not like they have much a choice at this point.
I don't see Nintendo ever being a winner, but it's a good move for them. It means 1) Android developers like Andy (oh hey, your time to shine and suck two dicks at once!) can port their apps/games to Nintendo's platform pretty easy depending on how modified Nintendos version is and 2) because of #1, more developer support instead of abandoning Nintendo's hardware. When making a game for mobile, developers can then go "oh well sure, why not since porting to it should be easy."
This seems silly. Unity3D already compiles for Wii U, why would having Android make a difference? No one in their right mind develops games natively for Android.
Because nobody with a lick of sense develops for Unity. Why do you think the most notable titles for Unity are "Surgeon Simulator 2013," and "Goat Simulator?"

Both of which could qualify for Kusoge?
My point is: Mobile developers of Android (which, yes: You're right, nobody focuses on Android because LOL piracy so they focus on iPhones) can now natively port their shit to Nintendo's platform. That's a
huge win for Nintendo in regards to getting developer support. Provided, they finally have learned to stop being pigheaded and LISTEN to developers. The problem for Nintendo has always been they go their own way, and unfortunately for them it isn't the early-mid 1990's anymore to where developers don't have to "my way or the highway" capitulate. Sony came in in the mid-1990's said "hey, let's talk" and developers talked. Nintendo still hasn't learned that method.
Edit: Oh and Hearthstone, Hearthstone is Unity.
