I don't think it's a really big deal in games that don't require nimble fingers or don't have a first person view. With the limits of console hardware, you still want to do it for multiplayer games though.

I've always felt she sucked. But I think its pretty easy to make the distinction between her sucking and the awful weirdos who make up that gg crowd. The problem is, whenever she is trotted out by the media as the sole example of feminism in games.

Because PS3-era graphics look so bad three years into the console generation at 1080p.

People need to temper their expectations. Uncharted 4 didn't need to make Drake photo realistic when Uncharted 1-3 had a certain level of "cartoon"-iness to their art-style. Was it going for "photo-realistic?" Kinda but not full-on.

It's going to be hilarious if the multiplayer strips LoD down to Uncharted 2/3 multiplayer levels to achieve the 60FPS they're touting for it.

The one thing I'd note is that there's a difference between Sarkeesian's video series and her Tweets. The former I've always found to be decent if unremarkable. Mind you, Twitter is a terrible platform for this type of conversation anyway (or any conversation I'd argue), but I didn't think her Witcher 3 observations were very on point. And I haven't seen Mad Max Fury Road so I didn't pay much attention to that debate, but she seemed to be one of the few voices decrying it as not appropriately feminist which I think left many baffled, as that movie had Mens Rights Activists up in arms because Charlize Theron was kicking just as much if not more ass than Tom Hardy.

Right. Like I said I didn't really follow that conversation as I haven't seen the film in question. I just saw Tweets linked in the Twitter-sphere where it seemed women in even the film industry (i.e. not GamerGate assholes) were taking issue with her observations. I do love the massive turnaround on this issue by the more vocal Sony stans. It seems a mix of PC fegitts constantly shitting on them, harsh reality and the supreme lack of first party AAA games that can push out 1080p, 60fps has led to a uncharacteristic silence from a lot of them.

It works both ways. It is also just a quick broadcasting platform until you link an article or video expanding your ideas. Getting flummoxed about the lack of nuance when it's also an advertising mechanism is showing your age a bit. I know because I fall into the same patterns of thinking about twitter.
