not QUITE the same, but Kazuo Umezu is another classic horror manga author
Check out Drifting Classroom or any of his shorter one volume works.

Suehiro Maruo deserves a mention as well. Lots of supernatural elements, but his stuff feels more grounded because it's about the depravity of man as well.

Yeah, just read all of Junji Ito's stuff.  Kazuo Umezu as well since the guy is legitimately insane.  Maybe look into Shintaro Kago as well, but his horror stuff is more about mindfucks and gore in general.

Well yeah, dude's a guro artist.  The concepts are fucked up, but just something about his art makes it hard for me to get legit nauseous over.  Maybe it's how the anatomy is detailed, or something.

Still, the guy is crazy talented when it comes to perspective and stuff.  Abstraction completely blew my mind.
