Someone talk me down from this ledge

The writers on this show are more bloodthirsty than GRRM.

The ending of season 3 is one of the most bullshit things i've ever seen. Fuck the actor for Matthew for leaving.

So what you're saying is I should watch Downton Abbey.

Sympathize with Edith. I predict a Plath-style suicide in her future.

Edith will be the best off when the aristocracy dies off. Mary is fucked. She sucks anyways, so go Edith. Edith is too strong to kill herself. *crosses arms*

So this isn't a feel-good period piece like it seemed to be in early Season 1? That's as far as I got into it.

Season 1 takes place in like June of 1914. Nothing could ever break this era of prosperity!!

If Downton is heroin in that analogy, Six Feet Under is 300 Tylenol.

Did you pay attention to season 1 at all?

S3 was such a rebound from the soap opera nature of S2, but the ending essentially killed the series IMO. There seemed to be a pretty clear path forward for the show, an overarching plot that could have lasted a season or two. But S3's end essentially forced the show to become stuck in a loop of rehashed plots and side stories that were much more interesting the first time around. S4 wasn't horrible...but the downward spiral is pretty clear now. Granted I did like how S4 ended though.

It's pretty clear the show runner wasn't prepared for what happened, and I can't really blame him tbh.

I just now found the courage to watch the first episode of season 4. I'm glad they skipped the aftermath of his death because I wouldn't have been able to handle that shit.

That said, do you think they buried him with Mary's stuffed animal that kept him safe through the war?

Also is George's middle name Matthew?

Also did they fix the car?

All those questions will be lost in time like tears in rain.

I wouldn't skip anything, but I will admit the grief gets annoying.

interested in your overall thoughts by the end. Personally I thought S4 rebounded, and it introduces an interesting new suitor.
