fuck...if Michael Bennett drops to the Lions in the draft I'd be pretty damn happy. Let Suh walk, re-sign Fairley, draft Bennett, pick up another DT in free agency. Then fix the o-line in later rounds, throw in a CB, get a RB (Gurley?).

Most people aside from you see Oregon as a respectable champion for the face of college football with an incredible quarterback who is also an amazing person. Yes, we do have a lot of Nike influence. No, we are not the only team that Nike fellates -- see Phil at one of the Alabama games last year.

Oregon deserves this championship win. We've fought for years to get recognized and this will be good.

I'm fine with Oregon winning and expect them to. I wouldn't be able to tolerate OSU winning solely due to the Meyer narrative. Smartest guy in the room! A genius! Won with a third string QB! Meanwhile in the real world he almost shat the bed last night in the most idiotic fashion imaginable. Mike Smith is somewhere thinking "hey, I got fired for doing that shit."

Really looks like the playoff commission was redeemed big time yesterday. MSU beating Baylor in what was essentially a home game (Texas) plus OSU taking out Alabama...didn't see it coming. I still feel bad for TCU though.

I personally liked that first down call (deep bomb). Cardale can throw it and Alabama has been susceptible to the deep ball all season long. I hate when underdogs play scared at the end of a game.

There were so many big moments in that game last night. Even the on-side kick and hail mary could have been recovered by Alabama if they were just a few inches lower. That TD OSU scored before the half was decided by inches, too.

what does swarmed mean here? because Oregon gave up 528 total yards of offense. I'm expecting them to beat Ohio State, but what happens if they can't force turnovers like they did last night? Even through the third quarter, FSU was driving pretty consistently, 4.6 yards a carry, 7.8 yards per pass, turnovers notwithstanding. Ducks offense was insanely efficient though, and they always seem a cut above their opponent, which imo will be the difference in the game next Monday.

Yardage means nothing when you're running a bend but don't break defense. Turnovers and actual points scored are what count. Our red zone defense was phenomenal and shut down nearly every potential touchdown drive FSU had aside from two. The ducks defense is built to let big plays happen midfield and then start to turn the heat up as an opponent gets closer to goal line. Our defense has consistently stifled opponents for the past three games. It's actually the best I've seen our "soft" defense play. The defense is built to stay on the field for long periods of time so that our machine-like offense gets breathing room to come in and make minute-long touchdown drives.

By "swarmed" I mean that Jameis was getting pressured nearly every play.

I agree with you on Oregon's ability to put pressure on Winston and their success in the red zone, but id hesitate to say that yardage means nothing, especially when it's leading to points, which was the case in the first half (and their first drive of the second). All of thats moot, however, considering FSU never regained the lead.

Oregon has always been a second half team. The only times that hasn't been true this year was Washington state and arizona first time, due to a snakebit injured offensive line. We would have beaten fsu even if they hadn't completely shut down the second half.

That's different. It's hard to deny Tebow was one of the top 10-15 greatest college players ever. Dude was good at college football. I just think Oregon is going to be too much offensively for OSU's QB to keep up with.

Yes beating Alabama in what was essentially a home game for them was impressive as fuck. Meyer is amazing I won't deny. But he also makes boneheaded decisions that people casually ignore. They could have easily gave that game away to Bama.

This is pretty much mine. But they're gonna leave Mariota in all 4 quarters, so I doubt we'll score less than 50. It depends a lot on how good his game his. He always has shaky first-halves and we can't let Ohio State get too far ahead.
