My job is 24/7 and they don't count labor day as a "holiday." Instead, you not only work a normal day, but they switch everything to "holiday routing," meaning no matter what position you have and what firms you assist, you have to take calls from anyone, and that's usually going to be pissed-off lawyers working remotely on some shitty connection. It's total stress-filled chaos.
Which is I requested off a good six months prior.

They also do this on Memorial Day and July 4th. It's incredibly easy to just submit a request for time off months in advance, yet no one does...so I keep getting those days off. Took off today too, because why not?
