it's cool how this TV edit is actually way more racist when you consider the neighbourhood reaction.

125th and Lex is filled with struggle, but there aren't many areas in NYC to fear for your life anymore. Gentrification really changed Harlem and Brooklyn.

Dipset sucks.

It's OK y'all, this isn't the mid 00's anymore where you had to fight over who's less awful. Rap is at it's best since the 90's.

When me and my brother were like 15 we went to NY, and we were taking a subway to...maybe the Met?  Anyway someone said it was X stops away, so we got on the train blissfully aware of the express train and ended waaaaaaaaaaaay up there.  Maybe the Bronx?  We got off the subway, walked out with 100% black folks in our dumb white t-shirts and tourist backpacks onto the street, and this elderly gentlemen comes up to us, doesn't even ask where we were going, and tells us where the subway entrance was, and then watched to make sure we made it ok.

Just saying, the entirety of Dipset is designed to appeal to and support men with no strong male figures in their life (Image removed from quote.)

- excessive use of pink, general flamboyance
- poor use of the English language, including excessive onomatopoeia use
- Harlem
- undue importance given to 'swag' rather than building or participating in something constructive
- fake gangster shit, most of them were A/C repairmen throwing up Blood gang signs
- becoming the rap genre's ideal of poor personal finance
- consistently making a buffoon of themselves on television
- Hell Rell

Swap Harlem for any rappers given locale and Rell with about a million worse weed carriers and you just described pretty much every rap crew in history. Also Cam is doing just fine financially

Yuppie lebensraum is one of the few forces in existence you may not impede.

It's in the Universal Declaration of Human Rights or some shit.

lol I walked around Harlem as a teenager in the late 90's and that was already getting pretty gentrified. There are some rough spots but you need to be looking for them.

If anyone walks up introducing themselves as Five Percent you keep on your fucking toes though. You don't want to piss off someone calling themselves Master Unique Scientific God Allah.

The Five Percent cult shit is mostly gone though.

Yeah I don't know anything about New York but before clicking on this thread I figured I could just apply the general principle that any area of any cultural renown from decades past has by now become one or more of hipsterville, yuppieville and/or totally dead.
