don't really see the huff, std gold is fairly soft, and you can work harden gold depending on how you manufacture it and what you toss in as an alloy.

it's just that yeah, gold is soft, and less pure gold harder than 24k.

acting like 18k gold is INNOVASHUN though :neogaf

Think I read that as "standard gold" being pure 24k and they were making a bullet-point out of 18k being hard than pure gold. Guess they're just saying the other 25% will be unobtanium or some shit.

i'm curious if they'll release the alloy breakdown. don't know if you can patent that kind of thing or not.

I wish Apple would focus on optimization of iOS for older devices.  Google did this pretty well with Kit Kat.  Hopefully L continues the tradition but I'm not hopeful based on Google's new design initiative.

That said, Apple probably doesn't give a shit because they know nearly their entire user base is fully okay with the 1-2 year update cycle.  Why optimize the firmware for the 4S (or 5 in this case) when the user base for that phone will only be around 5 percent?

I think Apple Pay will definitely legitimize NFC, and I'm excited for that. Android fans can rightfully tout having features first, but the truth of the matter is that Apple's implementation will more often than not bring the feature/technology to the forefront for a lot of people.

I'm typically an Apple figgurt but the iPhone 6 looks like hot garbage. If y'all thought the conference earlier this year was Apple proclaiming "me too!" then this one is even more shameless. Thing looks exactly like an Android phone and is pointlessly large for no reason other than to compete.

RIP Jobs and the era of Apple design innovation.

hmmm might have to play around with a note n gauge the sizing. 6'6 with big hands  :-* maybe the big one won't look all that stupid....

Is the only difference between the 6 and 6 plus hardware image stabilisation? (aside from screen size and no doubt increased clock speed)

I don't get the smart watch thing.  Just seems so pointless when you already have a phone in your pocket.  At least the Moto 360 one looks like an actual watch and not a tiger LCD toy.

Will probably get an iPhone 6 (regular size, unless I get to see the Plus first and it doesn't seem too large), although I have been thinking about maybe trying an Android phone.

So seriously, can we get a feature matrix of what AppleWatch stuff you need the iPhone for? Jony sez in the video that you can "play music directly from the AppleWatch if you leave your iPhone at home when you go for a jog". But you need the iPhone for GPS, and most people like to track their runs/walks/cycles. Would be hilarious if the thing is pretty much useless in situations where you have to put your phone into airplane mode, for instance.

No idea what I'm going to do for my next phone now.  Was looking at Androids but I'm not sure if there's any point in switching.  I didn't know Flash got removed; that would have been a big selling point for me.

I want better battery life, so if I stick with Apple I'm gonna have to get the iPhone 6 Plus.  Not sure if I want something that big.

I'm hoping the rumblings of a smaller than 6" nexus 6 option are true. Otherwise I don't know wtf I'm gonna do for a new phone.

Every smartwatch is 99% useless (at least it tells time, no?) until you can pop in a SIM card.

I want to answer calls w/o having my $350 watch being tethered to my $350 phone, yo. Shit is useless for now.

I kind of feel the same as B, whats the point of a watch if you have to have your phone with you...
