The best country in the world is having an election right now

Check wikipedia for their platforms.

Basically, the blues are good, the red-greens are bad, and the "Sverigedemokraterna" are nazis (and "Feministist Initiativ" are feminazis)

If someone could throw up a poll with all the options that'd be pretty great.
Curious to see who the Bore would vote for.

And it might be the only chance for some americans to have a taste of true democracy.

The People's Party care about education and giving Swedish research a better focus (rather than the general approach it has at the moment.)
Furthermore, they're okay with nuclear power and keeping our military.

I love the manifestos of multi-tendency parties that give as much ink to demeaning other socialist parties as they do capitalism.

Pedantry: someone should tell the author(s) of this that a big C Communist state is merely one that is ruled by a communist party and not one that necessarily displays the idealized qualities of a country building towards communism and ergo the air quotes around Communist in "'Communist' state" make them look .

e: I will usually refer to parties by their shorthand acronym (e.g. PCF, KKE) but the one in Sweden currently has no distinguishing appendages to "communist party" in its name and writing CP will get me on lists I don't belong on.

I don't got a problem with it. It's pretty clear that what they're talking about is China or DRNK, so I don't see why you're offended.

Here's the platform, btw. I agree with pretty much most if not all of it. :yeshrug

Alright, things Sweden has going for it:

setpiece for approximately a third of Beowulf
the term "Stockholm Syndrome"
Gothenburg melo-death (this is pretty contentious, considering striking it completely)
one Civilization franchise appearance
shitting on Finland for ~300 years
universal health care/tertiary education with varied effectiveness
rampant islamophobia (I'm assuming)

I'm not saying you're wrong breh, but if this is the standard...

I was going to vote for Liberala partiet but then I read some Svenskarnas parti literature and decided instead to vote Sveriges pensionärers intresseparti.

But apparently my vote doesn't count because I'm not a registered voter or citizen or something of Sweden. It's like, my great grandfather or somebody came from there maybe.

This is why democracy doesn't work.

You vote communist in US?

There's no one to really vote for.

CPUSA: While it'd be loads of ironic fun to vote for the FBI's political party, they just endorse Democratic candidates now.
APL: AFAIK anti-electoral.
RCPUSA: Bob Avakian personality cult.
SEP, SWP, SA, the other SA: lol Trots
PLP: Anti-electoral and out there.
WWP: Batshit fucking insane.

The PSL is my only possible choice and I find them unpalatable for a variety of reasons.

Anyway, I'm not opposed to multi-tendency parties, if I actually like the candidate I'll vote Peace and Freedom sometimes and if I was German I'd likely be a card carrying member of Die Linke (and not just because it's the successor to the SED), I just find ones that purport to be as such but actually aren't unhelpful.

They don't even make the ballot in Michigan, the Libertarians, Greens and Constitution (under the old U.S. Taxpayers name so they keep ballot status) are there obviously, but the only odd group that gets on is the Natural Law Party because Doug Dern must have photos of someone. The national party disbanded like ten years ago or something, he doesn't even seem to be a political transcendentalist or whatever they called themselves.

http://votesmart.org/candidate/political-courage-test/37454/douglas-dern/

I voted Libertarian in 2012 because the state GOP changed their own internal rules to disallow Gary Johnson from withdrawing from their primary so he couldn't appear on the general election ballot. So I did one of four write-ins for him in my precinct and then voted Libertarian for Senate since it was the ballot status office then. And then I jammed up the machine with my ballot because they didn't empty it out despite the warnings of "FULL FULL FULL" so I pretend like I had secretly taken revolutionary action against the state and it's illegitimate faux-democracy.

I only vote when I take someone else who wants to, and then just for ballot status and referenda, for a while I voted for this local sometimes GOP candidate I knew who has schizophrenia or something but he hasn't been running anymore.

I should try to get BA's party on the ballot. SYNTHESIS.

:dead Benji-kun electioneering for Bob Avakian.

So do you vote at all?

Oh yeah, in California there's always 2-5 propositions on the ballot that could fuck everything up right good and statewide offices.

The Michigan Libertarian Party actually is one of the more sane LP's. It's also one of the poorest for whatever reason. (What do you mean there might be a connection?)

If I was rich I'd waste the time getting BA on the ballot:
http://www.michigan.gov/documents/sos/New_Political_Party_Qualification_424178_7.pdf

lol at the people who deny there being major hurdles for non-duopoly campaigns, they've somehow made this document twice as long as last time I looked at it in 2010.
