D4 Thread of Window and Carpet Checking

Just played the prologue to get the feel of the game, I like it so far. It's weird but the right kind of weird.

Ultra stylized detective game with all sorts of strange shit? All in, son. The controller works great, no need for Kinect if you're wondering that. there's all sorts of things to do in cutscenes to gain credits for funny costumes. Holding Y for more info throughout. The controls are a little janky but not in a frustrating way, a bit of a learning curve if anything.

I've been playing the game with a controller and I've been having a blast with it (though I know people have said it's fine with a Kinect as well). It's good to see Microsoft fund "weird" Japanese games though

It uses Unreal Engine 3, so it's not the nicest looking game, but I haven't experience any technical issues yet

I just completed the first season of D4: Dark Dreams Don't Die and yeah, this might end up being my game of the year. It has everything that was perfect about Deadly Premonition (the weird characters, the culture references, and the humor) with a plot that is engaging and combines it with a way to play the game that makes it easy for anyone to pick up (it more or less plays like a Telltale game). I thoroughly enjoyed my time with the game and if you're an owner of an Xbox One, I highly recommend the game

I'm almost done with episode 1 and yeah, I like how it focuses on everything that was good about Deadly Premonition (story, characters, etc) while excising all of the god awful gameplay. Swery is a perfect fit for adventure games.

Gotta say tho, this game may have the most overdone Boston accents I've ever heard.

The art style is pretty cool.

It did allow me to help address some bug/s with the game through DM. I got his email addy and the missus is helping to figure out the bug/s that are plaguing her game. Its preventing her from getting all achievements. Super cool dude!
