(About the 4K-8K textures) Yeah, streets took a lot of resolution. Tho biggest textures are used for the shadows.

60fps (with minimal dips here and there that we try to iron out)

Cinematic Tonemapping, Motionblur, SSAO, HDR Bloom, Atmospheric Scattering, Godrays etc

Smoke and mirrors all over the place, otherwise we would be at 20fps.

No, we use realtime soft shadows. So we can have dynamic weather and the games size is much smaller.

(TOD feature) It's realtime. As a race is just a few minutes there are not much visible changes, beside some clouds moving.

SSAO is by definition dynamic, tho it's (almost) impossible to get working in 60fps ;) Technically: Every console is outdated

Just imagine what the next wave of Wii U titles looks like once the firmware update comes out to unlock the extra GPGPU features. This is already at least Xbox One quality.

You guys joke but these fellas could be the High Voltage and this could be the Quantum3 engine for the Wii U.

spoiler (click to show/hide)
Apparently they did a Conduit HD for Android.  :lol

And now they're doing PC/PS4/XB1 ports for Mortal Kombat/Injustice and helping Volition with Saints Row IV.  :leon

Did High Voltage ever do anything relevant again after that?

not really.  The Conduit was their attempt to make their own IP and escape the licensed game/support team dungeon they were stuck in.  It didn't work, exactly.  They did get to make The Conduit 2, but their 3DS version of the franchise was canceled.  Now they're back to their wheelhouse (with the occasional in house mobile game to keep the creative types there happy).

but, they are an independent developer who's actually still alive and seemingly healthy.  Which is something that's kind of rare anymore, so it wasn't a total loss I guess.

High Voltage has been doing (good) PC ports lately, Mortal Kombat was great for me though a friend had some sound bug that disconnected you from games, and they're helping work on the Saints Row IV "PS4/XB1" versions along with DLC/Gat out of Hell.

It's better than Kinect Star Wars I suppose.

Conduit HD actually doesn't look much better than the Wii version and definitely not better than it in Dolphin.

This looks bad to you?  Other than the jaggies i think it looks pretty good.

As for the outdated thing.  High end PC's will be about the same level of difference to xbone and ps4 is to the Wii U.  The problem is that no one actually uses the pc's power.

Texture work leaves a little to be desired. But it looks like Crysis on low with no AA. Kinda impressive.

So Nintendo can finally match a game like Quantum Redshift in 2014? Awesome
