Yes, I go to school with them and I've only given my number to maybe five people I go to school with

 :ohhh

Sounds v. annoying, sorry dude. Also, possibly a fairly innocent but misguided and idiotic prank that spiralled out of control  :(

Been pretty sick last 2 or 3 days. Fever, cold sweats, shaking the works. Throw in like four or so hours of feeling "okay" besides my head weighing a ton and general weakness/light headedness. Felt a little better today in the sense that so far the shakes have not struck me back to the bed...yet. =/

So the LDS church made the front page of the NYT with a story about how Joseph Smith had 40 wives. a lot of mormons are reconciling it by saying "He wasn't a pervert! Yes, he married 40 women, many of them underaged, but he never had sex with them!" I dunno, to me it seems if he didn't have sex with him it makes him even more of a pervert.

The second leader guy whos name I forget also had a shit ton of wives, and mormons explain it buy saying he married widows and the unwanted so that they would be financially taken care of.  Sounds a lot better than saying the dude enjoyed a having a gilf harem.

Taking the wife and son to the airport tomorrow morning. Going to get up at 04:40 to do it. Not looking forward to being without my wife's sane balance while looking after my mom.

Also, my sister didn't give me my license renewal, so it's illegal for me to drive even though my license is being processed. Being driven around at 47 by my 72 year old mom. I might as well move into a basement and buy anime posters.

Lots of sad folks on the bore around the holidays.

My struggle today is that I spilled some coffee on my peacoat and it's driving me nuts.

And for the fashion oriented, this is my coat

4 projects at once and the least important one to me keeps trying to schedule my time over and over.
I keep having to send out declining messages. What part of "I'm on 3 other projects. I'll get to you when I can do you not understand?"

Ha, back when I was working as a corporate stan for a media company this was my typical day

declined
declined
tentative
declined
tentative
declined
declined
tentative

I once entered tentative on my own contract renegotiation due to it being in another state in 2 hours. Then I read it and it said "webinar"

I have to admit it's sorta nice actually because this 4th project I hate and anyone can do it, while the other 3 are things that only I can do.
So even if I do have the time to attend something for the 4th project I don't attend lest they get used to having me around. I hope that they catch on and think "Hey....we can do this ourselves instead of having to wait...." Besides the other 3 are much higher priority.

I got you beaten handily.

I once was at a client that called a 2 hour meeting with 28 attendees about how we were having too many meetings and how to run an effective meeting.

Welp, if you're trying to run an effective meeting and you schedule it for 2 hours with 28 attendees? It seems to me you have no idea how to run an effective meeting.

I dunno my old company spent more on one conference room (crazy can be one huge room or 9 small rooms or 3 medium rooms) then they did on the goddamn voip install.  To this day I don't think they have ever as much as moved the faux walls in the thing and the network for phones goes down daily.

Oh yeah?!

I once worked with a client where the EVP said "Bring together all the stakeholders and come up with a schedule."

So I pulled together all the stakeholders from all over the world. 24 of them. Since they were big wigs I had to get them nice hotels and all that. Then I had to cater breakfast lunch and dinner while these 24 stakeholders and a team of consultants met to settle upon a doable schedule. Overall the meetings for that week with expenses, salaries, and consulting time probably came close to $200k. But at the end we had a detailed plan and a schedule signed off by all stakeholders agreeing to meet the schedule.

I took all this stuff back to the EVP and said, "Here's the agreed upon schedule. All stakeholders agree that end of September works."

The EVP didn't even look at the schedule and just said, "That's too late. Make it June."

"But sir, we've spent all this time and resources to come up with this schedule which everyone agreed to and they all agree to September."

"I understand. June."

$200k down the toilet.

This was the same company that when you got promoted to VP they gave you a $10,000 budget to decorate your office.
SVP $25k, I can't imagine what EVPs got.
All that just to decorate their office.
Oh and it was an annual budget. So they got that every year.

Client-organized celebratory dinner for my recent career advancement next week. :holeup Being the center of attention. :brazilcry

On a related note, I find myself unable to construct a sufficient personality test relating to my new title. To explain what I mean, there are certain topics people rotely discuss because no one actually gives a shit about anyone else but people are too chickenshit to just say as much. Schooling is one such topic, well at least above certain socio-economic strata. Having an usual major and an aversion to being noticed, I answer the question "So what did you study?" with a broad category. People respond to this in a couple of ways.
  • "Oh that's interesting." (i.e. I don't really give a shit, but please listen to me drone on about my venial existence now.)
  • "Which [category]?"
2. then breaks down into:
  • "I actually want to know which category." (Which breaks down further but we're already delving too deep into my madness.)
  • "I find your evasive answer suspicious and wish to probe further." (Sure thing, Officer Dad. :american)

Unfortunately the broad category for my new title is as opaque as the title itself, so I can't really replicate this unilateral personality test as simply as I do for education. I tried it out at the bar on Sunday night and I just got a :mindblown from the gal I was talking too. :shaq2

I will persevere in this endeavor though, pretty much everyone is going to ask you what you do for a living. :bolo

Spent the last day in the hospital due to an infected gallbladder and pancreatitis. I got sent home with a bunch of antibiotics, pain pills, and some stuff for nausea. They found a stone the size of a nickel apparently. They gave me a bunch of stuff for inflammation and something else that might help break up the stones as well as keep the bile machine in check. I don't know why they didn't remove the gallbladder, but it might have to do with the risk of infection. I have to find out when they'll schedule it and it's ruining my holiday spirit.

This month has sucked.  :'(

I've been feeling uneasy ever since Tuesday

Hmmm, what is bugging you man?

It has just sucked. My parents have constantly been checking up on me to make sure I'm doing "fine" and it just bothers me that someone would post something like this and get me into a world of trouble

Oh that's right. Man I have no remorse for the fucker if they catch him. I hope he goes away for a few years. Unacceptable behavior from a hater.
YMMV

Is it possible that your dad did it? Given that he reads your online posts, maybe he did it to convince you not to use forums or something.

Went to my second favorite local taco place for lunch, and as I was waiting at the front desk I noticed someone to my right, just staring at me. I casually gave her a glance and it was a 14-16yo girl, blushing and looking at me. I pulled a MAF and pretended to get a text, whipped out my phone and then she said "you don't remember me?" At which point I started looking around expecting the cops at any minute
:brazilcry

Turned out she's my friend's little sister, and I hadn't seen her in 5 years. She was there doing a paper on Mexican food, for school.
:whew

LOLS

My wife's sister hit on me pretty hard when we were first dating (she's older than us by 3 years). She left a message on my phone back in the day of answering machines along the lines of "yeah baby I'd love to sit on your lap...daaaaaaaddddddddyyyyyyy, holla" while my wife to be and I were watching a movie.....so the next night at dinner with her family my wife said hey babe you want some more mashed potatoes daaaaaadddddyyyyyyy, holla"  oh the uncomfortable looks at that table.

Memories AND always having one up on her!

:rejoice
