I just say "moin" even though I'm not from or in northern Germany. It's applicable at any time, which is handy because I have fucked up sleeping patterns.

It consists mostly of standard English lexemes with a couple exceptions ... if that helps.

every time i do this (saying 'good afternoon' before noon) i am overwhelmed with crippling anxiety, run out of the store/business, and lock myself in the car for several hours and center myself. it's only after I regain composure that I return to the store/business and apologize for my faux pas, and wish them a good morning.

no but I say 'have a nice day' late at night to skirt the line between polite and passive aggressive.

Awhile ago a (female) client playfully asked me why I say "thank you" after she says thank you, considering I'm the one rendering a service. I said something along the lines of "we appreciate our clients, and one thing we stress is blah blah blah [insert bullshit]." She laughed and said "oh...I always thought you were hitting on me  :shaq "

She's in her 60s.
