On one hand, I think they could do a better job with him. On the other, they'd make him a fucking Avenger like in the comics when he has traditionally fought street level threats, isn't a team player except for the occasional fantastic four run in, and is comparingly weak compared to say...iron man or fucking captain America. It's one of the large examples of Marvel's complete misunderstanding of the character in light of chasing after big bucks.
Cap beat down Spiderman in his Iron Spider suit, so there's that.
I didn't read the issue, but I liked the panels (which I saw out of context) where Iron Man uses some hack to send false triggers to Spiderman's spider-sense, then shows up behind him and one-shots him.The movies need to give Iron Man his Bleeding Edge suit. That thing is OP as fuck, but also sick as fuck.Though I think Iron Man was still in the Extremis suit when he one-shotted Spiderman? With Bleeding Edge that fight would be even more of a curbstomp.
We haven't brought up the dumbest part of Civil War: PenanceSpeedball (yes, SPEEDBALL) felt so bad about what he did at Stamford, CT that he started wearing a suit with knives on the inside that cut him all the time because GRIMDARKSpeedball(Image removed from quote.)Penance(Image removed from quote.)

Acting the same way. No scars or anything. No idea if they ever explained it or if he just magically showed up as Speedball in the new New Warriors.

Too bad IM3 made such a mockery of that storyline.Did we read the same Extremis? The movie actually fixed a lot of the wonky-ness that six-shot storyline had.The movie nerfed all the battles, turned the middle third into "Adventures of de-powered Stark and some kid from an 80s Spielberg movie", and replaced a somewhat-shallow, but still compelling villain (Mallen) with a bait and switch. It fixed fairly minor problems by introducing really major problems. The experience of reading Extremis >>>>> the experience of watching Iron Man 3.
