his spastic LOL HILARIOUS run is one of the worst things to happen to the character. ill gladly take simone back(especially due to her agent x run) than ever hear rumors of him coming back to deadpool

Aside from the Marvel NOW stuff (i.e. the solo book and Thunderbolts) I've read every Deadpool book and Way's run is nowhere near the worst Deadpool (which is the Deadpool from Deadpool MAX).

I can understand why a character who doesn't hide from the puerile nature of comics has always rustled comic fan jimmies doe. :hitler

the deep aspects of his character were thrown out for the sake of hilarity. hes always been a humorous character, but he was never as one not as he was at that point. posehn and duggan are doing a good job at the return to form

As a casual observer, it makes sense to me. People are going to quickly tire of the formulaic comic book movie. Need more stories that are subversions of that formula.

Forgot all about how terrible that was.

I'm so split on marvel not having the spider-man license. On one hand, I think they could do a better job with him. On the other, they'd make him a fucking Avenger like in the comics when he has traditionally fought street level threats, isn't a team player except for the occasional fantastic four run in, and is comparingly weak compared to say...iron man or fucking captain America. It's one of the large examples of Marvel's complete misunderstanding of the character in light of chasing after big bucks.

in major events, everyone is an avenger. and spider man outclasses the hell out of cap. outside of strategizing and art that is. but his solo adventures could be great if done right.

Cap beat down Spiderman in his Iron Spider suit, so there's that.

spider man still had respect for him.

if pete was going back in black against him, hed fuck his shit up. even more so if he knows way of the spider

I didn't read the issue, but I liked the panels (which I saw out of context) where Iron Man uses some hack to send false triggers to Spiderman's spider-sense, then shows up behind him and one-shots him.

The movies need to give Iron Man his Bleeding Edge suit. That thing is OP as fuck, but also sick as fuck.

Though I think Iron Man was still in the Extremis suit when he one-shotted Spiderman? With Bleeding Edge that fight would be even more of a curbstomp.

spider mans major malfunction was trusting tony. let him get a read of your powers so he has ways of fucking your shit up.

We haven't brought up the dumbest part of Civil War: Penance

Speedball (yes, SPEEDBALL) felt so bad about what he did at Stamford, CT that he started wearing a suit with knives on the inside that cut him all the time because GRIMDARK

And then at some point, he went back to being Speedball again.  Acting the same way.  No scars or anything.   No idea if they ever explained it or if he just magically showed up as Speedball in the new New Warriors.

Actually I read Extremis recently, and that was what really turned me into an Iron Man stanboy. Too bad IM3 made such a mockery of that storyline.

Did we read the same Extremis? The movie actually fixed a lot of the wonky-ness that six-shot storyline had.

The movie nerfed all the battles, turned the middle third into "Adventures of de-powered Stark and some kid from an 80s Spielberg movie", and replaced a somewhat-shallow, but still compelling villain (Mallen) with a bait and switch.

It fixed fairly minor problems by introducing really major problems.

The experience of reading Extremis >>>>> the experience of watching Iron Man 3.

Those "major problems" are only "major problems," for you. IMO.

The entire Extremis plotpoint was badly done. In both the comic and movie. There isn't much you can do for "NEARLY GODLIKE POWERS VIRUS" without having to run the movie/comic for longer due to the battles needing to be more drawn out for Tony to formulate a plan to beat them in that battle without dying.
