I don't even have an active account, so I'm not quite sure I can be a "newb".

Some bastard went from level 60 to 70 in 20 hours after launch began.

He just AE pulled elites with a ton of people healing him.

I'm assuming attack/heal pull still pulls mobs forever?  or he probably just found some nice respawn point, or re-instanced a bunch of shit.

WoW has some nice eye candy despite being so simple in design, but the game gets pretty boring, long-term anyway.

You as well as those 8 mil are entitled to your own opinions.
Just like people who tried the trial and weren't too thrilled with the game.

Stop pulling the userbase card or we're going to have to bust out Enter the Matrix.

I downloaded the demo of Guild Wars a long time ago; one of my buddies let me use his password/username so I didn't even have to buy the game lol.

It was interesting for a week and a half or so. I loved the music. But after awhile I realized...there was nothing to do. I don't even remember what the quests were like now or anything like that

Looking back after playing WoW, I simply don't understand why I played that game for more than a day. WoWo is far more interesting to me, in part because I was already familiar with the world after years of WarCraft II/III playing

Guild Wars disappointed me for the following reasons:

The COST of making pieces of armor you would wear for a few levels just blew me away.
Almost everyone sat in town dancing while half naked.
The enemy variety up to 20 levels in sucked hardcore.
Some of the quests...were STUPID hard, I mean fucking STUPID STUPID ASS HARD SONOFABITCH.
The fighting sounds and animations just didnt have the impact that say...the Warrior in WoW has. I need good combat feedback.
The death penalty was a shitty idea. So you cant complete a quest and you die, so they kill your stats making that quest even harder? BULLSHIT.

It is a very pretty game, and im sure if you find people to play with its fun. That makes pretty much anything fun, but you know what, a game shouldnt require other people for it to be fun. WoW is fun and I barely talk to anyone in the game. Its basically 3D Diablo if you want it to be.

When I played I would always see scores of people in the town areas, but once I left the gates all I saw was NPCs. This made it very hard to finish quests that required more than one player. I remember one quest where one player had to stand on a switch to open a door while the other player ran in to fetch an item. It took me an hour just to find someone to help me lol.

In WoW someone is always looking for a group, or inviting you to one.

Yeah in Guild Wars you have to group in town, not out in the field, usually.

I don't like that. Personally I like doing a quest and noticing other people in the area, and which point I ask them what quest they're on. In town you don't get a good feel for how someone plays. If I see a paladin fighting and healing his partner at a good rate I know he'd be a good person to group with. But then are are those paladins who wait until you have like 50HP to heal you lol, and that's what I want to avoid lolz

I dont disagree, im just not gonna ding Guild Wars for mechanics shared with games like PSO, a sub-genre it actually belongs to.

Now if it was actually an MMORPG, and you could only group in towns, THAT would be fucked.

As for WoW Paladins, I think in their heads there's no such thing as 'time to cast'

haha, being a warrior rocks tho. What talent tree did you go down?

I went with Arms cause I favor the two-handed weapons. I would have gone down Fury or whatever if I knew I was going to dual wield much, but im pretty sure I'm not going to, and sword shield ill keep around as backup but probably wont focus on the Protection tree either.

Arms has all the cool stuff for two-handed, but I MIGHT delve into either Fury for the rage gains or Protection for the defensive gains, but for now its alllll Arms.

Mainly arms for me lol. I've kinda butchered my skills due to noob-itis though

And god dammit has Burning Crusades ruined WOW? Seems like every group I've been involved with his week has sucked. From ninjas to over zealous group leaders...UGH >:( :punch

Well if anything the Alliance Shamans have become the new 'Paladins'. In that I mean, the Race/Class combo everyone makes fun of lol.
