Got a response from a recruiter this afternoon in my voicemail from a few jobs I applied to last night. Job in particular seems basic helpdesk/sysadmin which may or maynot be what I want.

But the base starting pay is 10k more than I make now and can go all the way up over 100k/y

So I may have to look into that one.

Saw a car with windshield smashed in when waiting to pick up a friend. Went inside to tell someone and when I came back out to look at the car I saw the owner walking over and I met with him and told him what I saw (nothing basically). Nonchalantly pulled out a Starbucks receipt from 30 min ago to establish just how long ago it must have happened and in case I need an alibi. Not one of the 5 middle-aged Asian men gathered around accused me of anything so that's a win. Granted nothing was stolen and I was dressed in non-lab clothes so maybe that helped.

Did my taxes for 2014 yesterday. I wasn't in a rush because I knew I wasn't going to pay but I also knew that I wouldn't be getting much back. My wife and I didn't have health insurance until September so I expected a pretty hefty penalty. Thanks to the contracting company I used to work for having outrageous insurance cost and it not being offered at all in my wife's job I qualified for the "It was too expensive" waiver.

Felt a presence behind me disembarking from the T to walk home after a good couple rounds of drinks with a good friend I haven't seen in a few weeks. Turns out it was an uber-drunk chick carrying her heels.

Sat down on the sidewalk and helped her put them on, then helped her stumbling-ass, gropey self to her friends' who coincidentally lives two floors above me. She admitted she was 20 and used a fake ID to drink for the night before her friends ditched her for being too drunk.
