Shaved for the first time today. I turn 21 this month. I'm not sure if it's a side effect of my disease or normal genetics that made it take this long. It was mostly hair on my cheeks, but it was starting to look pretty messy so I wanted to get rid of it.

Despite a few small cuts on my fingers (no blood) everything went well so I'm happy about this.

Yeah, in the U.S. the only "major" union that will organize temporary workers is the IWW and well it's not exactly major as well as being an ideological union (syndicalist) which tbh most developed world workers aren't looking for.

They'll take a shit ton of the money the second you "cash in" your IRA early. He's 100% correct. They should have given you the option to pay the taxes now or file them on your taxes.

Taking money out of an IRA and not rolling it over to another IRA is considered earning income that can be taxed. If you're not retired, there are additional penalties too. Basically if you have to, you have to, but if you don't have to, then don't.

Seems low. Vularai can speak to that better than I but I though it was near 30% all said and done.

Yes that and you're taxed as if it's earnings as well I'm fairly sure so it's 10% plus whatever tax bracket said earnings would hypothetically put you in.

10% is the early withdrawal penalty, you'll also have to pay income tax on the amount withdrawn.

Your peace of mind is something only you can put a dollar value on, but you might want to crunch the numbers on say using a credit card if things go south. Or, try not to spend a penny of what you took out and re-dposit it in an IRA within 60 days to create a rollover. (You'll have to pay out of pocket to cover the 10% withheld but you'll likely get the 10% withheld back in full as a refund.)

It's impossible to say without knowing a lot more about your tax treatment, but consider the following:

4,000 * .10 = 400 (penalty)

4,000 * .25 = 1,000 (income tax)

So worst case scenario, 1,400 of extra tax for earning no income.
