Just had a final meeting with the CEO of one of my biggest clients regarding a 2 month project to reorganize his Outlook folder structure. Lots of tedious back and forth but finally we reviewed everything and he's approved of it.

I can't believe that.

To be fair, one of the best senior managers I worked with had 90 minutes set aside blocked off on his calendar and everything to organize his emails for that day. I thought he was crazy but it did come in handy when we were like "Wait, didn't his person once say..." and he'd have it right there. But even with that, I still don't believe a 2 month project to sort out email.

Dude has folders within folders within folders with entire projects dedicated to over a dozen folders, archives going back over a decade, and then you only have 15 minutes every week or two to discuss what he wants and then have to follow up and find out he actually has changed his mind. I finished the work a few weeks ago but it took another 3 weeks for him to respond and confirm and sign off.

So it wasn't literally 2 months of work. It just took 2 months before we could sign off on it.

Step 2: Remove all folders and labels
Step 3: Apply "Old Mail" label to all previous emails
Step 4:

Step 5: Profit

Step 4 could also be "set up filters and labels for the present/future" as well, I suppose.

Gmail has great searching capabilities but the formatting when you send it out to a client looks like it was done by a 3 year old.

120$ on SCOTCH

1) Oban 14, really good something special. Delicate and flavourful. Wish the finish lasted longer.
2) Belvinie 12y double wood. Totally forgettable. Nothing bad just not a taste I like
3) Aberlour A'bunadh. Damn this was great. Easily my favorite non-peaty scotch I've had. My first sip was not very spectacular but as I drank it just kept getting spicyer and more tasty. Crazy good.
4) Ardbeg Uigadail. Best peateted scotch I've had. Will buy a bottle and save it for special occasions. Also had a sip of Ardbeg Dark cove. Not as good.
5) Port Charlette. Basically a really polished version of Laphroaig QC with out the oak taste and the salty taste. Good but not worth the extra 50$.
6) Sip of a friends Octomore because I convinced him to try it (at 30$ a shot) so I could try it. Basically Port Charlette but only the camp-fire-in-you-mouth taste and nothing else. If I had 300$ to spare I'd buy a bottle.
7) Talisker 50 degree North. Basically a really nice verion of Talisker Storm at double the price.

Glenmirangie Necar. Too drunk/peated out to taste anything here at this point. It was sweetish.

The oban 14, A'bunadh, Uigadail were my top 3.

Went to the store to buy a tool to fix my brakes. They didn't have it in the right size so I went home and said "let's try this fucking shit one last time" and bam! Got it. So I saved money on a tool I didn't know would work and didn't end up needing. I also saved $300+ dollars possibly by not having to buy a new caliper.

Sale sign went up on our apartment.

Asking price 35% over what we bought it for.

Hold my hands and pray with me this works. I'm mega nervous this is some alternate reality and the market will crash suddenly and we won't be able to cash out on this.

The house we are eyeing to buy is 25% cheaper then what we bought our current place for, but twice the size (worse energy rating though but we can do it up a bit with new insulation in the roof and solar panels).

If we can sell at a good profit and pay off a large chunk of the new place our monthly payments should go down a lot, so we would be pretty comfortable looking for jobs in the new area, wife will probably get plenty of work as a freelancer and I actually might be able to work from home for a while until the company finds a replacement.

We'll be living walking distance to all her family which is so nice, as now it's 4 hours away to them and we want our daughter to grow up with family all around her

Also much nicer for us obviously.
