CBC interviewing police. Still an active investigation. More than one gunmen. CAN NOT CONFIRM that a shooter was shot at Parliament. (May be protocol) Has no new updates on the soldier shot this morning. Can confirm that no one is under arrest. When asked if he cannot confirm because it's an ongoing investigation or he doesn't know about the shooter, officer responded "a little bit of both"

FWIW looks like we are ramping up port security in Cleveland. I just watched 5 military choppers go overhead and the coast guard is extremely active.  Probably just standard protocol.

Parliament Hill is also almost certainly not secured as tightly as The Capital in America. There is a large, overt RCMP security presence on The Hill, but access isn't strictly controlled on the grounds leading up to the building.  There are always lots of tourists hanging around in front of the buildings.

My best friend was filing some documents for their law firm at the courthouse like 20-15 minutes before the shooting happened, so he was super-lucky not to be caught in that mess.

The soldier who died was just a few years younger than me.  It's always fucked up when someone your age or younger than you dies.  Had a whole life to live still.
