I like this now. Couldn't get into it when it first came out, still wish the controls were 360 shooting, but otherwise the game is a lot of fun and is hitting that rogue-itch for me.

People have figured out what the requirements are to unlock "The REAL Platinum God!" achievement. (Lots of end game spoilers.)

In addition to unlocking all the other achievements, picking up every item, etc, like in the original BOI, you also have to beat every end boss with the new secret character, The Lost. The Lost has no health. He can't pick up health. If he's hit by anything, he's instantly killed. You have to be completely perfect through the entire game. With that in mind, you have to beat Mom, Mom's Heart, Satan, Isaac, The Lamb, and Mega Satan. Oh, and the Boss Rush.

It's just stupid impossible, and people are furious at Edmund.

The dudes that have spend like thousands of hours streaming BOI on Twitch are not even close to being able to do this. They've been streaming themselves attempting it, and I don't even think anyone's got past Mom.

I like that win condition for Platinum God. when players started getting that left and right it really made it seem less like a challenge and more like an inevitability. Now it sounds truly elusive. I'm getting those classic-arcade-game "is that even possible?" vibes.

Right bumper. They're just the rogue like equivalent of potions. Some are good, some are bad, you don't know until you use them or have an item that IDs them.

I'm actually on the Vita. It uses touchscreen bullshit. Took me a while to figure out. Game needs a tutorial lol.

It does varying things depending on the number of pips shown. Like, it can shuffle all your powerups or shuffle all the items and pick ups on the floor. Shit like that.

Also, yeah. Tammy's Head + Brim is a guaranteed win every time. It one shots every boss.

Not really. You don't level up your character or buy things that influence future runs. Winning with certain characters or meeting certain conditions will unlock new items, but they just get added to the item pool. You can't grind out Isaac like RL.

With enough time, I think anyone could "beat" this game, it just depends on to what extent you want to beat it. There are OP items and characters (Azazel, I'm looking at you) that make it fairly easy to play through the game, but unlocking everything is where the real challenge is.

Yeah. The other thing is that Isaac really isn't that hard of a game. The joy of Isaac for me comes from seeing what weird build I end up with and how OP I can get before I reach the chest/Sheol. Each new run feels genuinely distinct from the one previous.

Judas has been growing on me. The higher initial damage + Book of Belial mean I can destroy any initial enemies and bosses pretty easy. And most bosses give HP up so the low health isn't a problem. Just gotta pull for soul hearts and devil deals basically.

Keep coming close to getting this one. The easiest way is to hang on to an Emperor card and then pop it as soon as you start The Chest.

Pick The Lost
Hold R until you get a god tier item (Mom's Knife, Holy Mantle, Polyphemus, Dead Cat, etc)
Play normally
If you get hit, press ESC before the game over screen comes out and then hit Alt + F4
Restart the game and resume as normal (be sure to save after a boss or hard fight)

It's scummy, but after trying it legit for awhile I just said 'fuck it'. The Lost goes against the spirit of the game imo where you try to take what you're given and build from there. It turns the game into pure luck where you hope you get a handful of amazing items and pray you don't get fucked by RNG, such as the Digletts in The Womb or Isaac's beam of light in his 3rd phase.

Just had the most moronically OP run ever

Epic Fetus + Quad Shot + Proptosis + Bloody Lust + a shit load of other damage boosting items.

I dropped 4 SUPER OP missiles in a row with every strike. I put the hurt on Mega Satan so fast that the game freaked out and played the Game Over music for the rest of the fight after his first form fell in, literally, less than a second.

These are the moments that make this game so good.

Does Magic Fingers always do that ridiculous amount of damage or is it dependent on your Damage stat? Both times I've used (and abused it) I already had max damage anyway, so I could never be certain.

Edit: Note to self: Tiny Planet is not a good pickup to grab if you have Mom's Knife. :'(

Both. Beating the Cathedral 5 times unlocks the Polarid (which takes you to the Chest when you beat the Catherdral) and beating Sheol five times gets you the Negative (which unlocks the Dark Room when you beat Sheol).

I hoped hard mode would have more bullets being fired (maybe even diff patterns) and more champion enemies. Making it hard by reducing drops rather than making it hard by upping the enemies is the most poop thing possible imo
