Ate lunch with some coworkers, including one guy who proceeded to embarrass us with various ignorant statements. He was quite condescending to the waiter; at one point the only lady who came with us was talking about a particular project, but when the waiter walked up she lowered her voice. The asshole coworker blurted out "you don't have to whisper, he doesn't know what you're talking about. Excuse me, you're name is...ah, Tim. So Tim, do you know anything about [finance]? No? I thought so. Carry on, [female coworker's name]." Everybody at the table got douche chills, and I could tell the waiter was pretending like he wasn't offended. I left him a nice tip and an apology.
Said coworker also went on a spiel concerning his favorite soap box: "being politically correct." He started complaining that you can't say "Indian giver" or "sitting Indian style" anymore. At which point another coworker got upset and said "we exterminated Native Americans. The least you could fucking do is not say ignorant shit about them or make fun of them, jeez." I wanted to stand up and slow clap, but instead I took solace in not being apart of said "we" because lord knows my ancestors didn't do shit to the Native Americans.

(no one invited that asshole to lunch btw, he basically just followed us and took a seat)
