Little update, but Tony Hawk confirmed at CES that there will be a new game for the PS4 (and I'm assuming that it's going to be on the Xbox One as well)

Skate was a direct competitor that went the "realistic" route in its design.

But EA gave up when they saw this and realized they couldn't compete:
