Why do white people like North Face clothing so much?

At work now because of the cold, everyone is wearing winter wear. All, or most, of the white people are wearing something North Face, whether it be a jacket, coat, whatever. They are all so plain and ugly but this is a yuppy brand line. Why do white people like consigning North Face? Is it the white FUBU except for rich people and way more ugly?
