I never made texas style, I don't have a smoker :tocry

i do v easy to make brisket in the slow cooker tho, do a rub down with cayenne, smoked pap, salt, pepp etc, make a bed of carrots, onions and garlic a can of Morena chipotles, litre of chicken stock, cook for 10 hours, carefully remove brisket, separate stock and veges, throwout veges keep chipotles reduce and skim stock, re add to pulled brisket. p good
