poutine: worth the hype or...
« on: December 01, 2014, 08:09:21 PM »
Aight y'all, my interest has finally piqued. Is this really as good as people say it is, or just more overhype like the Maple Leafs, Raptors, Voivod and Justin Bieber?

1. Carne Asada Fries
2. Chili Cheese Fries
3. Poutine

Just being included in the fry triumvirate is something special regardless of where you rank. Poutine is pretty fucking great.

Agree with this. I had it a few times and it's alright but nothing mindblowing. In all honesty, I prefer my fries plain with mustard or ketchup and slight salting.

Honestly the best way to eat fries probably  isn't all this overaccoutremented stuff. Just give me some with seasoned salt or Greek seasoning, right out the oil and some ketchup or aioli if I'm feeling all Contra that night :mouf

Basically.

It's far from foolproof. Fries gotta be crispy, cheese gotta be squeaky. Actually only the gravy needs to be just ok. Brown canned gravy works pretty well.

Loved it when I had it in Canada. American imitations are shit.
