Because they're all in-the-moment thrill rides with no substance?

I watched QoS 3 times in theater. Fuck me that was hell. Once for my curiosity. I hated it. Once when a good friend convinced me to go with him. I hated myself. And once more when I took my wife's little cousins and they wanted to see it. I hated Daniel Craig.

They remind me of when I was a kid and my dad and I would have marathons of the flicks.  We would play GoldenEye and then watch a few, then go back to GoldenEye.  I will never hate them, regardless of how bad they might be.

At one point I owned all Bond movies on VHS.  They are great and totally rewatchable a thousand times, when you are 13.

cause it's a barebones story just to give some context to the cool action sequences they come up with. although i do like watching the Brosnan Bonds over again because they're so fucking stupid

Bond series is trash.

for the bad entries its out of nostalgia.  Bond films been around for 50 years plus, that's long enough that every man under 90 has some likely positive memory of the Bondster at some point in his youth.

I could go the rest of my life without ever seeing A View to a Kill Again, but From Russia With Love?  Sheeeit man, uncomfortable colonial/racist/sexist overtones and all, classic Bond is good fun.

FRWL owns balls, Goldfinger has the rep that Russia deserves.

A lot of Bond films are bad but entertaining with satisfying tropes. There are maybe a dozen decent bond films, with only a handful being classified as good/great.

Moore had The Spy Who Loved Me and For Your Eyes Only. Live And Let Die is fun in a really terrible and stupid way. Moonraker is funny as hell. A View To A Kill is the worst Bond film ever, even worse than Die Another Day. The Man With The Golden Gun and Octopussy are just bad.

Yeah, was just gonna post that Goldeneye is infinitely rewatchable due to the absurdity of it all

I have a soft spot for the Connery Bonds but realistically they're all not exactly "good" movies.

It's because Bond is not a relatable or interesting character.  I would share a beer with John McClain, but what would I talk about with Bond?  He like the Al Gore of action heros.

As someone who owns a version of every bond film on vhs/DVD/bluray/and beta. I can tell you that there is nothing wrong with rewatching these movies. Yes they are campy and borderline ridiculous, but that's what makes them so much fun to watch.

Love the Dalton bonds, and to think he might of starred in earlier films. What could have been! (Same with Brosnan)

Moonraker is the only good one, and only because of Grace Jones.

Get your bond films straight, Grace Jones appears in "A View to the Kill" as May Day which came out in 1985 and starred Christopher Walken as Max Zorin. "Moonraker" is the 1979 Moore film, which features Richard Kiel (RIP) as Jaws and Michael Lonsdale as Hugo Drax.

Have to disagree, Bond movies are some of the rare movies I will stay watching when they come up randomly on TV. Maybe nostalgia because I always watched them with my dad who couldn't most other action movies. Perfect films 11 pm movies when you don't have anything else to do.

Skyfall is the best Bond so you are wrong buddy. I mean Casino Royale is nice and all but...

And yeah old movies are not very accurate in portraying anything outside of the Western world, doesn't make the movie bad :) You could find stuff like that in any movie from that period I bet.

Maybe so, but by then I was sold already. I don't think the home scene was bad. M dying  :'( I really adore the Scotland setting as well, maybe because I've been to some of the locales.

You also have to love the fact that Bonds troubles after being shot equal drinking beers on a beach and banging models.

Let's also not forget the godlike song, shivers every time

Skyfall is really great, especially the 3rd act when it becomes an R rated Home Alone.

See how forgettable they are?  I can't even be assed to remember basic details about them.  I'm sure next week I'll still remember Grace Jones in Mooraker.

Bond movies can be credited with my love for film so no.

:what Also the Sean Connery ones are impeccably shot, still look great, feature hot well-fed babes, great orchestration, lack of bombast, cool gadgets, and actual sleuthing.  :lucas

connery > dalton > lazenby > craig > brosnan > moore

You all should watch Everything or Nothing, which is on Netflix.  One thing that made me gain respect for Brosnan is that he pretty much admitted all of his post Goldeneye movies sucked ass, which they do.  Having Madonna with her shitty fake British accent is the 'sucked a dick for crack' moment of the Bond series.  I'm glad they resurrected the series with Casino Royale.
