Is this fair "journalism"? (switch-er-oo Hannity)
« on: January 21, 2007, 03:44:51 AM »

Skip to 1:30 or so. Basically Hannity tells the democrat guest he's reading a quote from Bush and asks them for their opinion. Once they bash the quote Hannity then reveals that it's not really a Bush quote - but a quote from a democrat (in this case Hillary).

On one hand I find it hilarious that the guess bashes the quote and then when she finds out that it's from a democrat they deny they bashed it lol. But on the other hand it's not honest journalism.

That's not really journalism, no.  It's like the whole pedo-trap thing on NBC:  people think they're in for one thing and then whoo hoo!  They're in for another.

Hannity is not a journalist and neither is O'Reilly.  What they're running are editorial shows that feature their opinions and commentary.

This is why Democrats should avoid Fox interviews.

This is why Democrats should have consistent beliefs and not try to spin ideas negatively or positively based on who said it.

You could pull the same stunt on a republican just as easily.

I want to be angry at Hannity but I actually lol'ed

The funny thing is that supposedly Hannity is a cool dude outside of Fox when the cameras aren't on him. When hes on TV he turns on the douche factor too +100 and comes off as a person you want to kill hundreds of times over.

That doesn't surprise me seeing as how he was also on Opie and Anthony about a few months back (via Phone). He was a cool person, not smug at all. He joked with both the guys and was real chill.

Hannity's radio show is fairly entertaining.  I just realize he has some really stupid opinions, but I still like listening to him for shits and giggles.

But if anything, I think this shows how full of shit politics is right now.  Nothing but mud slinging and he said-she said, I can do better, shit.  You could have just as easily done this to a Republican.  This is why I stopped caring about politics.

The funny thing is how off his statements are in that video. You'd think Iraq was some bastion of freedom and peace right now while the Democrats were trying to sabatage it wtf. Even O'Reilly is very critical of the war at its current state.

But on the switch-er-oo it really shows these guests are just talking heads for others. If you disagree with a statement about Iraq why should it matter whether one of your beloved leaders said it or not? That's why I refuse to blindly allign with any party. I've been down that team mentality of "gotta defend my side no matter what" and it sucks.

The only side I defend blindly is Michael Savage's.  He's an American hero.

Keith Olbermann is the only american hero on cable news

If that man told me to jump off a cliff, I probably would.

Stewart and Colbert are "fake news" though.

Olbermann is a real newscaster progressive alternative to O'Reilly who happens to be rather sarcastic.

Uhh, she said the statement was wrong, but she never said she supports Hilary Clinton's position, she said that she supports the Democrats' position. If she said she supports Hilary's position, she would have been wrong, but she never said that.
