Yeah, gonna have to play a little more. Maybe as a more aggressive military faction. I hate that though, i want to promote peace and understanding :fbm

Domination games are easy and boring :ufup all you do is keep up your production and science and batter dumb AI's pillar to post

Peaceful victory options :aah

I have fallen out of love with 4x games over the years, but I generally trust Frag and this looks good. I'll get it when I can snag it for $10 or so.

I really like it, the UI is probably my favourite part. I also really like that if you lose or gain a city you can lose it back very easily unlike civ.

I need to try it with another race to see what they play like though.

Unless you're about even in army size there's almost no reason to not automate combat. You won't suffer losses if you outnumber them, and you're fucked if they outnumber you. Otherwise it's a slow slog

The way it plays out on the actual map with each unit is great though.

k I've put in about 4 more hours.

-Love how diplomacy is handled via the influence system.  Firaxis should steal this for Civ 6 and have diplomacy tied to culture or something.
-Love how you can change equipment for units instead of just upgrading to the next tier
-Not too crazy about having 1 city per region (unless I'm missing something)
-Don't like how a city can be destroyed in a single turn (unless I'm missing something).

I'm still pretty garbage at the game, but I'm warming up to it.

Not missing anything. I like the first one because it prevents infinite city spam and makes location more important.

The second one sucks, but it also means you can take it back shortly after if you have an army nearby, which you can nearly never do in Civ. Losing an important city in Civ 5 is basically gg, not in this game though.
