Had some people over for my husbands birthday/NYE, mostly other lame parents. Basically the party for people who are too old and tied down to actually party. Turns out all these lame ass parents still know how to get down. 6 kids running through the house like wild banshees. Their drunk ass parents and other single friends being obnoxious and awesome. Lots of beer, lots of wine. It turned out to be pretty fun.
My NYE has been that way for probably 8 years now, and I've only had a kid for 3 now. That's my favorite way to celebrate, honestly.
Had all the kids in PJs watching A Bug's Life on our friends' bed while we drank and hung out later in the night. Good times.
Since we bought our house, it's been a tradition that we host NYE since it's so close to my husband's birthday. The year I was pregnant and my husband's 30th, people were doing kegstands in my dining room.

I assumed it would calm down quite a bit when we and more of our friends had kids, but it only calmed down a little because didn't get a keg!
We had neighbors moving in on NYE that year I was pregnant, with a great view of my kegstanding husband and friends. I thought, welp, they might as well find out now what they got themselves into. They were either going to hate us or love us. My daughter calls them aunt and uncle.
