Lol, I was a defender in the Greek amateur league as well. That shit can get a little too dangerous when you're playing against reckless players (especially against some of your league rivals  :kobeyuck) and with a ref that barely knows what he's doing. That's cool tho, soccer is one of those sports where I could be in a pitch playing all day. Good cardio and extremely fun.

Saw this gif on /r/soccer and thought I would share. The best PL striker in his era, along with Henry. The pace, the unpredictable far post finish before the goalie can even react, the elegance. Man like  :bow Ruud Van Nistelrooy :bow2.

(Image removed from quote.)

Henry was better. Have no problen admitting that

BTW, I'm officially an (Image removed from quote.) fan for 2 reasons:

1) As a Cleveland fan of sports I'm use to fucked up teams.
2) They aren't the best team in the division and will have to work to stay on the top four of the table.

:rejoice

does having the most followers on twitter, a myriad of no-fun-allowed stadium rules, an instagram littered with twinks talking about their haircuts and the dogged determination to become the safe choice for alternative glory cunts the world over count as "fucked up" now?

Soton vs. Liverpool the only quality entertainment this weekend. I'll keep a tab on City and Newcastle later just in case of a meltdown, suppose.

:heh i'll DVR you and spurs but they're on a real hot streak and you're out in the snow right now (6AM watch over here)

as for us and Palace, I don't see much coming out of that. unless we completely implode that's a pretty set 2-1 win for me. I suppose there's always the chance that United get pooped on by Swans again but I doubt it.

edit: having said that, i'm sure Gayle is going to burn Chambers over and over again today :snoop

form tends to be irrelevant when we go to the lane. even in our garbage last season we still did the treble on them.

palace are back to being the sort of bottom half team that can burn any big club on their day which sets the prem apart from la liga.

All he does is foul until he gets a card then we have to take him off. Thats fine for some midtable shit but for what were going for he wont be around much longer hopefully. He's fine for this clank garbage we play now though.

By any normal standards, we played bad. And fairly conservatively. Usually we like to flood our midfield and push everyone up near the opponent's penalty box but I'm guessing Wenger wanted to spare some energy for our CL game against Monaco this week.

Either way a win's a win and now we're firmly in 3rd place since United fucked up, so (Image removed from quote.)

Edit;  until Southampton put us in smelly 4th

bollocks were arsenal conserving energy, they can't handle being pressed and piss the ball away. it was a lot like the spuds game but with shitty strikers for palace and two gifted goals to the rent boys, neither of which would've stood if the lino brought his glasses. leicester was pretty similar too.

offside is in such messed up place right now. no consistency to it whatsoever. a bloke being a gnat's pube ahead of the defender is going to have no bearing on the outcome, so if it comes down to the lino basically guessing they should always give the advantage. that's before we get into the whole "interfering with play" hornet's nest.

still raw about that nolan goal against long ball united.

No doubt. Also I don't know if it's just me but I've seen a lot of 'unintentional' handballs come from defenders using their body while turning to clear a shot /pass.

http://gfycat.com/CheeryKeyHarrier
Joey Barton is a moron. there are some teams you feel bad about being in the relegation zone like Burnley cause they try hard but I'll be damned if QPR aren't full of bone heads.

yeah, that's something else. i mean if it clips your elbow pressed up against you that's one thing, but if you're ten yards from the man flailing around like a crane fly and your hand gets between the ball and the goal, i don't know why intent has anything to do with it. i'm pretty sure most fouls in the box aren't the result of intent, either.

if we're playing fantasy FA, i'd like to see indirect free kicks given for relatively innocuous handballs in the box.

Who is "we" in this case? Arsenal?

What's the story on how AiA picked that team to root for?

1)yes

2)scroll back a page. Don't think a_i_a will really be that happy as an arse fan though. If I were him I'd support City or Southampton.

So I bought Pro Evolution 2015 yesterday and played a few games last night and I gotta say, it's a much better game than FIFA. Goalies and defense aren't shit, passing is reliable, there's a better sense of realism (most games end with 2-3 goals and not the 5+ goalfests you'd see in FIFA). Might go with that from the get go this year instead of buying into EA's bullshit. It'd be a no brainier if they had the licenses.

just saying. Dude had an assist and a goal, yet given what he was presented with he still put out like a 5-6/10 performance. He makes Giroud look like Aguero. Hopefully toffees transfer him to FC Chlamydia Krakow.

What makes it worse is his inflated sense of self worth. As if Real Madrid wants to spend money for a fraud ( :hitler )

This year's FIFA is one of the worst sports games I've played. It's fundamentally broken with zero balance. If you hit a finesse shot from a certain angle and with certain power , it will always go in, regardless of the goalkeeper. Terrible game.

Yeah I havent really played frequently since 13 before the nextgen jump. Its so disappointing to see its basically the same exact game and the same exploits still work. EA has gotten really lazy.

NBA 2K is the same way from a gameplay standpoint. God knows why they keep changing the buttons every year tho.

Yeah it's a little weird now that I think about it. We typically say is instead of are when we talk about the team's location. It doesn't make much sense in football since there are no real mascot names for the teams like there are in american sports.

Best teams are going to be Seattle, LA Galaxy, Revs, DC United, and maybe NYC FC. I think Toronto might be good too since they have some actual stars on that team. They determine the champion American style, best teams go into the playoffs and they play two games one home and one away and the winner is who has the best aggregate score.

MLS style is obviously a lower level then all the European teams, and they can attack decently but they are all shitty at defending. I just watch for my local team and to see budding US national team stars and hope they get sold to Europe :yeshrug.

You aim your shots with the left stick right before you shoot the ball. No defensive duties really, just call the ball and be prepared for counter attacks during opposition setpieces.

Just ballhog and go everywhere on offense. Whatever you do/create will be infinitely better than anything your teammate AI will come up with.

You pretty much have to put up 40/40 seasons for your team to be worth a damn.

MLS really needs to drop its weird getalong gang reddit streak. it's a decent league in the making (atleast it will be when it adopts a proper pyramid), but it does itself no favours with this "look how far we've come" bollocks.

there should be no we, you should be at each other's throats. that's what makes for a juicy league. the foreign league games that can draw eyes from even the most myopic supporters are the ones that guarantee a rivalry between two clubs who fucking hate each other.

maybe it's just my european gaze, but it almost feels like it's trying to hard to give itself a narrative. i remember when the prem started up and i couldn't tell you anything about its identity other than it being fucking everywhere all of a sudden. it has characteristics, but they're all organic to how the league developed.

think it's strength will be in scheduling. hear that sky are going to be putting out a couple of MLS games in the late evening slot (11pm-ish over here), could do well then as it will be pretty much uncontested.

The 'problem' with MLS fan culture is the same problem with what's affecting the atmosphere at the Emirates and Stamford bridge though; educated, affluent, cultured fanbases make for shit atmosphere and fan drama.

it's crazy when you listen compare the american call ins you get on the WFPI with the average 606 mong. they tend to be pretty eloquent but bookish, with a couple of FM logic tangents thrown in. an english caller to 606 tends to be some irate mental on the verge of tears pissing in the ear of whoever is taking the call.

there's just an element of supporter culture in england that embraces being an unironic cunt. i'd go as far to say as it's a necessary release for us in order to uphold the social contract for the other six days of the week.

And now you're starting to get it. Football's problem here in the states is that to a lot of people over the age of 15 it's still a hoity toity librul  euro snob game that's unamurrican. It's the sport of choice for people who read Salon.com articles and eat at 5 star restaurants on Yelp and work in app development (see: Seattle Sounders fanbase). The unwashed, dumbshit prole of America simply hasn't embraced the game yet. Probably explains why Liga MX is still a better league at the moment.

well here there's an easy solution over here and that's dropping ticket prices. STs are a major investment for most people and if you're living hand to mouth it's not going to factor into it, and match day prices for the prem are insane. they sell out, of course, but not to the people you want. those people are already half cut in the queens shouting at a TV screen.

the hope is that with the insane TV money coming in, the effect of having a 50k+ stadium screaming its collective lungs out has on growing your club's brand will be more important than mugging people on the gates.

how would you go about making the MLS appeal to dumbshits? i feel like you only need a couple of cunts to get things going. crystal palace have a pretty modern liberal football fan base, but they have their holmesdale fanny brigade of cosplay ultras to set the fires.

Guess that result is okay for Dortmund. Team is probably more concentrated on the Bundesliga anyway.
